  • This was a great experience for my child. The teacher was great, and I enjoyed being in the class with the children on my volunteer days. My child made a lot of progress throughout the year.

  • We had the absolute best experience here! Mieke (the teachers) is top notch. Our daughter grew so much over the last two years at YCP!

  • My family loves Ypsilanti Cooperative Preschool. What do we love? We love the teacher, the way the school day goes, the Montessori learning that is incorporated, and being part of the school community. Our third child is currently attending the school and is learning so much. Our older two were so well prepared for kindergarten both academically and socially. I enjoy being able to be in the classroom on the days I assist and seeing for myself what my child is learning and to watch my child and my child's classmates grow in so many ways.

  • We love Ypsilanti Cooperative Preschool! My boys have learned so many valuable skills. On top of things like writing their names, simple math, colors, and shapes, they have learned many things that I could never have given them at home. They learn independence, how to make decisions, and social skills. My 2nd grader still keeps on touch with many of the friends he made there and my 5 year old is sad to be leaving Miss Mieke when he starts Kindergarten in the fall.

  • We really love this preschool. My kids thrive with the Montessori method that is so hands on and about the individual child's interests. Ms. Mieke has some great puzzles and learning toys that the kids manipulate, sort, scoop, stack, and more. My older son went to another preschool in the area and he played with trains and cars the whole time. I love that Ms. Mieke has a designated work time where the kids are doing projects, using learning toys, and creating. I love that my kids learn so much and also are developing socially. There are even volunteer grandmas who come and help the kids. It is a great environment!

  • I’ve had 3 kids go to Preschool at the YCP and we LOVE it. The teacher is amazing and the Montessori inspired curriculum means that the activities are intentional, purposeful, and fun. When my oldest two (3rd is still in preschool,) were in Kindergarten, the teachers would comment on how they came better prepared than their peers, and I definitely credit that to Miss M. The community is great too, since parents volunteer to lower tuition costs, we all get to know each other. It’s a win-win situation for our family.
