AFA has been the most amazing school. Our daughter started back in 2022 and now our son attends as well. The teachers and entire staff care so much for the children and provide so much love and guidance for them. My kids love going to school here and the community that AFA has built here is so wonderful. The fact that my kids are also learning Spanish from native speakers is an incredible additional benefit. I would recommend this school to anyone looking!
Kelsey SchuckJun 4, 2026As a parent, entrusting my son’s care and education to others is not something I take lightly. Since enrolling him at Alma Flor Ada (AFA), I have never had concerns when dropping him off each day. The staff genuinely care for the children and create a nurturing environment where students feel supported, valued, and encouraged. They are attentive, kind, and compassionate, while also providing appropriate guidance and behavioral redirection when needed. The educators and staff at AFA take tremendous pride in their school and foster a strong sense of community. Throughout the year, they organize family events and volunteer opportunities that bring families together and reinforce the importance of community involvement. I also appreciate that the school provides nutritious, high-quality meals, including authentic cultural food that enriches the students’ experiences. One of the aspects I value most is the school’s dual-language immersion program. Not only is my son learning Spanish as a second language, but he is also gaining an appreciation for Spanish-speaking countries, cultures, traditions, and learning the importance of kindness and service to others. Although English is the primary language spoken in our home, he has adapted exceptionally well and continues to thrive in both languages. He began attending AFA at age two, and by age four, he was proudly reading full sentences in Spanish. AFA further supports language development through resources such as an on-site library, where families can check out books, and Spanish flashcards that my son especially enjoys. The school also encourages creativity and independent thinking through engaging projects that allow students to express themselves and take pride in their work. Communication with families is another strength of AFA. The school conducts parent-teacher conferences throughout the year to provide updates on student progress, and its parent communication app allows me to stay informed about my son’s daily activities and experiences. Most importantly, the teachers and administrators at AFA are exceptional. They are responsive, approachable, and dedicated to their students’ success. Their passion for education is evident in the positive environment they create, the enthusiasm they bring to their work each day, and the genuine joy they demonstrate in supporting the children and families they serve.
Melissa ScheidJun 3, 2026Alma Flor Ada has been an outstanding experience for our family. Our daughter (5) and son (2) have thrived there. Our son went from being nervous the first week to excitedly sprinting into school every morning. Both kids come home singing in Spanish, using new vocabulary, and sharing what they’ve learned about Spanish-speaking cultures. Our daughter picked up Spanish incredibly quickly, speaking in full sentences within ~six months. She loved the after‑school program as well and would often be disappointed when I had to pick her up early. She is now fully prepared to continue on to her Spanish immersion kindergarten program. The teachers and staff are warm and have excellent communication, creating a tight‑knit, supportive community where families feel truly connected. This school has been such a gift to our family and we highly recommend it!
Katherine McKenneyJun 3, 2026We loved our experience at Alma Flor Ada! Our daughter speaks fluent Spanish and felt supported and challenged in her learning. The staff was kind and communicative throughout her experience and she went to school happily every day.
Kate SpilsethMay 24, 2026We’re so grateful for the wonderful experience we had at Alma Flor Ada. Even though our daughter attended years ago, we continue to appreciate the impact the school had on our family. She learned so much during her time there, and they truly helped strengthen her Spanish in such a natural and supportive way. The entire staff was kind, caring, and attentive. You can truly feel the love and dedication they put into every child and family. We will always look back on our experience there with so much gratitude. Highly recommend! 💛
Mag BarrettMay 24, 2026I want to share my families amazing experience with both of our children having attended Alma Flor Ada. Our kids are excited to go to “daycare” each day and always have fun stories to share upon pick up. AFA provides creative activities for children throughout the day while blending in curriculum to best prepare our children for kindergarten. My daughter is in 1st grade now, Spanish immersion, and is performing highly in the school district’s curriculum both in English and Spanish. I cannot speak highly enough about AFA, the staff, and the warm caring environment they’ve provided our littles.
