Big Wonder Child Care

We feel so lucky to have found Big Wonder early on and at a time when our child was clearly needing a warmer, more nurturing place of care. We are continually impressed and thankful for Celeste and Hannah’s attunement to our child. They clearly excel at encouraging kids to thrive in their own ways, and we are impressed with the social and emotional aspects of the curriculum. We love the focus on play, and the respect shown to the children. It is a joy to feel supported as parents with caregivers to truly love our kid, and their work!

Our daughter has been attending Big Wonder since she turned 2.5 and we are so grateful to have found a school that feels like home. She had never been in care before and tended to take quite a while to warm up to new environments and people. Celeste and Hannah have created a space for children and families that is easy to warm up to, and our daughter’s confidence, curiosity, and JOY has grown exponentially since we first walked through the doors. She is full of happy conversation about her friends, teachers, and activities every day after pickup, and I feel confident that she is seen, heard, and celebrated every day. Finding a daycare that demonstrates respect for children and families, teaches emotional literacy, and centers play, joy, and exploration has been a huge gift to our family. We love Big Wonder!

My wife and I enrolled our son at Big Wonder in August of 2023, and we couldn't be happier with our experience. Prior to Big Wonder, we used a daycare service that was fine, but it left us feeling like our son was just another kid in a big pool of toddlers. Since making the switch, my kid looks forward to, "seeing my friends," every morning. Celeste, the director, is extremely personable, communicative, and flexible in her approach. We are especially impressed the lessons being taught here, and with Hannah, the school's program coordinator. I would highly recommend Big Wonder for any parent desiring a safe, loving, and profound educational experience for their child.

We love Big Wonder! And better yet? Our child loves going to school everyday! He has quickly made friends and trusting relationships with his teachers. He feels welcome, accepted, and heard. We value that he learns everything from how to use mindfulness to calm his body, how to ask questions like a scientist, and how to practice being a great friend (to share, ask for help, be kind, and generous). It’s a meaningful place. We are counting the days until our younger child will be old enough to begin school here!

You can tell when someone is living their dream. Celeste has put her whole heart into Big Wonder. She and Hannah (teacher) light up every morning you walk in at drop off and are still smiling, with all the details from the day, at pick up. My son typically takes a long time to warm up to new places and new routines, but that has not been the case at Big Wonder. Drop offs are so smooth and he is beyond excited every day that he gets to be there. Since the very first day, he wakes up every morning asking if he gets to go to school today. Having a child that would typically cling to me with hesitation in previous programs and now runs, full of excitement when we get to school at Big Wonder, is the most satisfying feeling any parent can possibly have. There is a feeling of safety, reassurance and happiness in this space...every detail has been carefully thought out. There is so much freedom for the kids to explore, learn and create in the most secure space. The changes to my sons self esteem, in just a few weeks, have been extraordinary. I recommend Big Wonder to everyone. Celeste and Hannah are without a doubt the most dedicated, loving teachers you can possibly hope for and the space is absolutely stunning.
