Girasol Montessori School

Girasol has been a wonderful place for our kiddo and our entire family. Our child that attended here is the youngest of three, so we’ve been around the blocks with daycares and preschools. The director is incredible—well versed in Montessori, applied in a way that is pragmatic and responsive to the needs a working parents. The staff is dedicated, loving and professional. This school is truly a hidden gem and I can’t recommend it enough.

The first thing that stands out when you visit a Girasol classroom is how peaceful it is and how calm and cooperative the children are--taking care and pride in their environment (watering plants, tidying the space) and supporting their classmates. Ms. Sharon and the team of teachers are deeply nurturing and highly skilled in Montessori methods. Within weeks of starting at Girasol, my three-year-old was noticeably more confident, insisting they could do all kinds of daily tasks themselves. Now almost four, their independence, motor and verbal skills, and knowledge (including a rapidly expanding bilingual vocabulary) have skyrocketed—and they've made several close friends as part of a warm community of children and parents. They also have a beautiful nature-based playground and they spend a lot of time outside, making art, eating lunch outside, engaging in sensory play, going on walks, etc. Girasol is definitely a hidden gem of the Twin Cities.

We feel so lucky to have found Girasol Montessori! All three of our daughters have attended, and it’s been an incredibly special part of our lives. Ms. Sharon and all the teachers are incredibly caring and thoughtful, and the environment is calm, nurturing, and inspiring. We’ve loved the bilingual approach and the way the school fosters independence, confidence, and a true love of learning. We’re so grateful for the foundation it’s given our girls.

We love Girasol! It is a warm, welcoming, and nurturing environment. We have watched our 2 kids blossom there socially and emotionally. They love their teachers and have been so excited to show us their work and what they do day to day. We can’t imagine finding a better extension of our family to entrust with our children’s development during these critical preschool years!

We absolutely love Girasol. My 3yo daughter can be spicy at times and Miss Jennifer has incredible patience and love for her. After enrolling I’ve noticed that she expresses love and caring for her younger sibling and she is expressing interest in reading and writing. I tell everyone - Girasol is the best!!
