  • IMO way overpriced for the experience received. Also extremely disappointed in their customer service. My nephew wanted to use the penny press machine, we tried twice and put two bucks in with no luck. When we were ready to leave the zoo I went to the gift shop and asked for a refund. Instead of a refund we were offered some random left behind coins. What a joke, the whole point of the penny press is the actual experience of doing it yourself. I told them they should put an out of order sign on the machine and the worker just said yeah we have been trying or something like that. There were six employees standing around in that gift shop with zero customers. Seems pretty scammy to me to keep that machine up full well knowing it doesn’t work, I’m sure most people don’t bother asking for a refund for a couple bucks (not that they will give you one anyway).

  • It was okay. We liked seeing the animals and the employees were nice but also a few of the exhibits were closed and a lot of the animals were hiding so we couldn’t see. It is also a bit run down and the otter and bear tank water is green and gross. Expected a bit more for $20 a person but it is what it is.

  • Loads of fun!! Lots of construction, so there was a couple enclosures that were closed or had to turn around to avoid. But animals were amazing to see and observe and looked well taken care of!

  • Though its a small zoo compared to those in bigger cities, you can tell the Lake Superior Zoo has heart and that the animals are well taken care of. Staff are awesome and the layout is very wwll designed almost like youre strolling through a forest park. You also get to see rare animals that couldn't thrive in other climates so well like Alaskan brown bears or American tigers. The ability to feed animals for visitors is also a good experience.

  • Needless to say it’s a smaller zoo, but there do have quality exhibits. I really enjoyed the fossa and the Canadian lynx. The area with the waterfall and stream is far nicer than any area in the Columbus or Cincinnati zoos. They have a cafe as well. Admission is overpriced for what they have.

  • Lake Superior zoo is one of our favorites. They have a big variety from silly otters, to nocturnal building, monkeys, bears, lion and Australian and insects. We love how vocal the tiger is. The coyotes were also very vocal and playful. The goats looked ready to have kids soon. This is a more natural and spread out zoo. The red Pandas are truly unique as you don't see many zoos with them and definitely a star of the zoo. We have a membership due to great pricing and loving the zoo.
