  • NELC has been a perfect place for my daughter! It was her first time attending daycare, and her teachers were so patient with her transition. The staff are very attentive and have good communication amongst one another and with the parents. My daughter has already learned so many new social skills, games, letters, and concepts since starting at the NELC. I couldn't have asked for a better experience for our first daycare, and hope to use them for more children in the future.

  • Add more details to my good review after two years of wonderful time! We truly appreciate every teacher and everyone works here, it is the best daycare we have ever been, we felt lucky to find this place and was able to send kid here. Because of pandemic, we kept kid home for half year and experienced quite a few different daycares before and after that time. In between all these places we have visited, learned, and experienced, nativity has the best teacher ratio and lowest turn over rate (amazingly they never mentioned it before, we found it after joining the class!) Even that most expensive daycare in grand ave changed teacher often, and for a few other places we experienced, teachers work there simply because they get free daycare for their own kids. But nativity is different, here you always have at least three or four teachers to cover your class in a day. The curriculum and students progress are amazing, they communicate with parents often, and try very hard to make sure your kids have a lot of activities and outdoor time (like when weather is bad, sometime they have bouncing house set in class!) the building is full of kids work, every holiday there are decorations, the classes have their own way to celebrate it, they make kids feel proud and welcoming. I never found these in family daycare and a few other daycares, as parents we know it is not an easy work to prepare all the holiday specials for kids! Most importantly, teachers here have great patience and truly care about kids as a person. We have experienced a very bad Montessori daycare nearby the river, they almost ruined my kid. But nativity tweety room’s teachers helped him back to that happy kid again. It was not an easy process, but teachers just tell us what happened today and never blamed my kid, they never made us feel sorry or made him feel like he is not a good kid. The previous daycare teachers would say something like he has problems and needs external help, because they don’t want to spend time on him, but wanted to keep him for tuition. But nativity teachers just let us know what happened, what is the daily progress, and they help him fit in the class. Within half year he turned back to that happy little dud like he used to be. I saw bad review about the director and felt unfair for her. Some people in the world are just no good at flattering people or make people feel special, but it is irrelevant from their work performance. They never send kid to office or call parents to pick your kid up just because they think your kid has small emotional or behavioral difficulties today (unless your kid had a large poop accident of course you need to come take them back), which happens all the time in that Montessori, they never tell kids indoor voice indoor speed, they help kids relax and release their energy, of course kids will be happy and calm and be more cooperative in learning. Teachers in nativity spent time to make photo albums every year and prepare Christmas gift for every kid, they don’t have to do all these, but they do these every year for everyone. At least for the multiple daycares we know, I couldn’t find any other daycare do these “unnecessary” special things for kids.

  • All Three of my children have attended the NELC and we love it! They were prepared for kindergarten and we love the staff. They are so warm and welcoming and their communication with parents are great! I would highly recommend the NELC to families!

  • Not all catholic preschools are created equal. My daughter still remembers how she was treated here when she was 3, and now she's 6! Having had a positive experience elsewhere, the contrast was night and day. At one point she reported to us that "The teachers tell me all the time that I have to listen to them, but they don't listen to me." For a 3 year old to say this is just heartbreaking - we got her out as soon as we could and she's been happy ever since. After hearing how great this place was, I was shocked. Maybe it was just that one teacher. Regardless, I'm still troubled to this day that she remembers her experience there and she learned that not all adults can be trusted.... Too bad she had to learn that lesson so young.
