New Horizon Academy

We’ve had a wonderful experience with New Horizon Academy. Our first child attended and now our second. The engaging daily activities and development-focused schedules keep kids excited to learn and grow, and the care is truly exceptional. Ms. Maia and Ms. Maddie are fantastic teachers, and Ms. Shraddha, Ms. Josie, the directors (Ms. Rachel and Ms. Claire), and the entire team consistently go above and beyond. We are so grateful for the nurturing environment they’ve created for our family during these critical formative years. Highly recommend!!!!!

We've used New Horizon on Minnetonka Blvd several times for drop-in care through my employer's EAP, and they've been wonderful every time. They've been a lifesaver whenever our parents who help with childcare are out of town or unavailable. The staff are super kind and friendly, and they've taken great care of my son—feeding, playtime, diapers, and consistent updates through the Procare app. We love getting photos throughout the day. He first stayed with them a little after his first birthday and is now 20 months, and while he's not always used to their schedule, they've been patient and comforting with him through the change of pace. I usually pick him up before nap time so he can still rest at home, and they've been completely accommodating about that. The location is very clean and secure, with noticeable surveillance, and the play area overlooks a marsh—a lovely touch. They've handled the drop-in arrangement like a charm. We haven't used them for ongoing childcare, but if we were ever in a position to, I'd strongly consider them.

When my daughter first started here, we had a great experience. Jennifer, the director at the time, was amazing, and Miss Claire has always been wonderful as well. However, after the directors changed and I enrolled my infant, things seemed to go downhill. The center did not feel as clean, and there were multiple times I picked up my baby without socks on and his feet were freezing. When I questioned it, I often felt dismissed, as though I was asking for too much. After several conversations that led nowhere, I eventually had to contact corporate to get concerns addressed. Since involving corporate, things have improved for my infant, which I do appreciate. Unfortunately, my biggest concern now is my 5-year-old. She is not receiving proper pre-K preparation because there is no dedicated pre-K teacher, and she is grouped with much younger children. I truly worry she will not be kindergarten-ready unless I spend the summer teaching her myself. I believe this center has potential, but they need stronger training, better communication with parents, and more consistency in providing the level of care and education families expect for their children.

This school has been a wonderful addition to our family. My daughter is learning so much, and I’m confident her skills will transfer well when she begins kindergarten. My son is truly loved and well cared for by his teachers in the infant room, and I have full confidence that he will continue to thrive as he moves through the entire program at NHA Minnetonka. Every teacher we’ve encountered has been wonderful, and the center has such a welcoming, family-like atmosphere. I would absolutely recommend this location to anyone looking for high-quality care and education.
