Peaceful Valley Montessori of Eden Prairie

We’ve had great experiences at PVMA. The office staff is great, classroom communication has been solid, teachers are caring, knowledgeable, and personable. The classes make a point of maximizing outdoor time, which I love. At drop off, I can tell the kids feel safe and comfortable when they’re there. FWIW, I like the parents I’ve met too, which I think says something.

Our son Adam started attending Peaceful Valley Montessori Academy at the end of the summer, and it was the best decision we could have made for him. This is truly a place of growth, learning, and care. There hasn’t been a single day when Adam didn’t want to go to school - he absolutely loves his teachers, and it makes our hearts so happy to see that. We can clearly see how much he has changed and how independent and confident he has become. We are incredibly grateful and so happy that we chose this school for our son!

Filled out an application in January for our first born (due in July) for December in the event we didn’t get into our top choice daycare in time. Ended up getting into our preferred daycare and completely forgot about PVMA. Until they sent me an invoice today for a December 15th start date. Now I see an email from the director at the beginning of November that I missed somehow asking to confirm a December 15th start date. Responded to her today and told her we won’t be attending and they said they’re charging us anyways? Apparently there is a 30-day notice period to withdraw from their program and when you fill out your application, you also apparently enroll in the school (of course this is not something we even remember agreeing to at this point nearly a year later). Incredibly disappointed by this school and their communication. Nowhere in the director’s email did she indicate we were closing in on the end of a notification period or that we would be charged. We never received any phone calls to confirm attendance. We never confirmed we would be attending. Just feeling incredibly scammed and like full information was not provided to us.

My 4 month old came home from daycare with bruises. Only because of my work experience in pediatric trauma was I able to act quickly and advocate for my baby. My child was evaluated by a child abuse doctor who ruled out any serious injuries but determined that he had been physically harmed, likely by one of the caregivers at his daycare. A report was made to DHS and to local law enforcement who just wrapped up their investigation. Unfortunately, there were no cameras to capture what happened and no one saw anything, at least if they did they have not come forward. Through the investigation with law enforcement they did discover that one of the infant caregivers was practicing unsafe sleep habits and had placed my son on his stomach to sleep when he was just 3.5 months old. The director of the daycare was made aware at the time that this happened but of course, we were never informed that that had happened until this all unfolded. This was not the only issue we had and we wish we would have listened to our gut sooner. I would steer clear of this daycare.

Both of my children attend PVMA and they love it. The teachers are great and my kids learn something new every day.
