Recently, SBS hosted a morning coffee and connect time for parents and a Montessori specialist. It was great to introduce myself to a couple parents, one I had just met and the other was new to me. At that event, as parents, our shared common denominator was the strong sense of a positive community at MG SBS. My son adores Ms. Keke! Individually, math curriculum was discussed: I took away how the physical aspect of weight translates when learning math. I had not considered how that aspect can really bring home the link in the brain when adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing! Usually it’s only manipulation or stacking them, visual or tactile in my mind, but carrying them around, especially items that are not tiny, blew my mind! Allowing children to work at their own pace with curriculum that grows with the child is awesome! I love how in nice weather the classroom is extended outdoors and each summer the kids grow a garden. Knowing where food comes from-sooo important! My son asked me yesterday, “where do cookies grow?”! Keep them young while you can! And kindergarten isn’t required in MN, in fact not until 7 do kids have to be enrolled in education! I’ve heard, often, public schools don’t even know what to do with kids who come to kindergarten from a Montessori because the children have already learned so much in so many different areas (self regulation) that the children are bored.
CecilyJul 28, 2026I am constantly impressed by how many skills my child learns at Step by Step - Maple Grove. All of the staff at the school are exceptional teachers who genuinely care for the children. My child has thrived in the Montessori environment, and absolutely loves going to daycare each day. I’m so thankful to have SBS-MG as my child’s daycare center and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a daycare center.
Helen HeimarkMay 28, 2026I love the crafts that the kids do. I love the support of the teachers. I love the Montessori style and learning. All of the teachers we have had are amazing. Ms. Kristi in CH3 is so kind to my child and makes sure they are comfortable and can be themselves. Ms. Bre and Ms. Gina in NiDO1 are like family. I just love knowing my kids are safe and getting the development they need!
Talia WiggenMar 27, 2026I really can’t say enough great things about SBS MG. The staff are so caring and dedicated. We know our daughter (and soon our son!) are in the perfect place and best hands each day. A huge shout out to Rachel and Brittany as well because they work so hard to make sure everything runs smoothly! Whether it’s bouncing from the classrooms to organizing community events, they set a high bar for our community’s culture. There are other childcare options closer to our house, but I would wholeheartedly and happily choose SBS MG every time.

When we drop her off at school every morning, we know she is in fantastic hands; we don’t even give it a second thought. Her teachers in Nido 2, Ms. Gabby, Ms. Kennyce, Ms. Nicole, and all the other teachers in the room are fantastic, and we know our daughter loves being there because her face lights up whenever she sees any of them. We didn’t know anything about Montessori education prior to coming to SBS, but we are big fans now. We know our daughter is set up for success at Step By Step Maple Grove. Highly recommend!

They made us feel confident leaving our 8 week old with them and the transition was as smooth as we could have hoped for! Although it is quite expensive, I truly believe they provide exceptional care.
