They work to get to know each of the kids and have done a great job with all the special needs of my son.
Mary VoigtJul 10, 2026Yellow Brick Road Shakopee was formerly owned as Orchard Hill Childcare Center and even with the transferring of care and changing of some teachers, we’ve had the best experience for our three boys ages 5, 3 and 1. The teachers all have the most patience and positive attitudes with the children and the teachers and director do an amazing job at communication and accommodations for our son with behavior disorders and they truly feel like a second family for my kiddos and we appreciate everything they do for us as well as our boys!
Mackenzie EnglerJul 9, 2026This daycare is the worst. Would not recommend to other parents. My child came home with a bad bruise, and no one informed me or documented it. When I brought it up, they dismissed my concerns and refused to take responsibility. I regret ever trusting this place and suggest others avoid it.

Julia SNov 12, 2025My child attends Orchard Hill and we’ve had a very enjoyable experience since joining this center. Ms. Amber is an excellent, hands-on teacher and very friendly and approachable. I feel confident having her care for my daughter and she looks forward going to daycare each day. For those currently considering their options - I would highly recommend Orchard Hill!
Katy SimpsonJan 13, 2025Our 2 year old daughter has been going to Orchard Hill since August 2024, and I cannot say enough how happy we are with our experience. With my background in early childhood education I was very particular about where I enrolled my child for daycare! The staff are knowledgeable, loving, friendly, engaging and warm. My daughter is warmly welcomed by name every morning, and even has teachers from other classrooms that sneak out to give her hugs and say hello. We have had the same staff the entire six months we’ve been enrolled (which says a lot if you know childcare), and have worked with teachers on potty training, challenging behaviors, and sleep issues with a team approach that centers our child. Our daughter eats well rounded snacks and lunches that expose her to foods she doesn’t always get to try at home, and has gotten so good at cleaning up after herself because of the skills she’s learning at Orchard Hill. She also does daily art and enrichment activities that are both cute and help build foundational math and literacy skills that will set her up for success later in school. Lastly, the social nature of the classroom our daughter is in has led to huge language, motor and social growth for her. When we walk in, the other children greet her by name and are excited to share with us what they are doing, wearing or holding and when I walk in to pick up all of the children say goodbye to my daughter by name. This shows the intentionality staff put into teaching names and fostering relationships in the classroom, something that often goes overlooked or assumed in care settings. Logistically speaking, the cost of care and the friendliness and flexibility of the director are just absolutely bonuses for the peace of heart I have in dropping my daughter off in a place that I know she is loved and cared for with the same respect and compassion that someone I would hand pick to care for her has. Thank you Orchard Hill!
