I am writing this review based on the fact that they are very neglectful with the children and aren’t attentive I’ve asked them several times to fix certain situations with my child and they would fix it for a little bit and then completely go back to the same habit of doing things and that is very frustrating to not be heard or listened too tbh it makes me upset because I had a great experience at the beginning but there were a lot of red flags that started to raise my concern I would not recommend this place

Latrisha WhittakerSep 5, 2025Urgent Complaint Regarding Disrespect and Negligence at Child's Day Care Dear South minneapolis YWCA staff ,Shelby & Michelle, I am writing to express my deep concern and disappointment regarding the continuous disrespect and grossly inadequate behavior I have endured from staff members at your daycare, with a particular emphasis on my interactions with an employee named Hikma. It is my hope that this letter will serve as a catalyst for necessary change and improvements in the management and overall atmosphere of the facility. I have been a dedicated and concerned parent whose priority is to ensure the safety, well-being, and positive development of my child in your care. Unfortunately, recent experiences have compelled me to address several disheartening issues that have persisted for far too long. First and foremost, I am troubled by the lack of effective management skills demonstrated by Shelby and Michelle, which I believe has led to gross negligence in addressing the problems within the facility. Their inability to manage the staff effectively has left me with no choice but to escalate my concerns to higher-ups in the organization. Furthermore, it is disheartening to note that despite three previous complaints, the behavior in question has gone uncorrected, casting doubt on the competence of the management team. In particular, my concerns have revolved around the blatant disrespect and discrimination I have experienced at the hands of Hikma, a staff member under their supervision. To my dismay, no meaningful action has been taken to rectify this issue, and I have been left feeling isolated and unsupported in my concerns. This is in stark contrast to the assurances of your facility's commitment to the well-being of both children and parents. Furthermore, my recent interactions with Michelle has revealed a concerning discrepancy in the information and communication provided by the management team. I have evidence of false statements made during each meeting, which is deeply troubling and calls into question the transparency and integrity of the facility's management. It is evident that the high turnover rate among staff and their unwillingness to work at this location are direct reflections of the management practices in place. It is a widely acknowledged fact that people do not despise their jobs; they despise poor management within those jobs. The unwillingness of employees to remain at this facility suggests systemic issues that must be addressed promptly. I would also like to address the unwarranted portrayal of me as overreactive and disrespectful by both Michelle and Shelby. I was encouraged to apply and join the team, with the promise of being a good fit and positive feedback from colleagues. However, their refusal to acknowledge and address my legitimate concerns regarding Hikma's behavior is a glaring inconsistency that cannot be ignored. After enduring these issues for over months, I can no longer tolerate the unprofessional behavior, indifference, and lack of accountability that I have encountered. Hikma has refused to receive my child at drop offs. Refused to acknowledge my presence, or simply respond to day-to-day greetings. Hikma would intentionally walk away from the rooms in order in an attempt to avoid receiving my child during drop offs . Intentionally making me late. I kindly request an immediate resolution to these matters, and I am prepared to explore any necessary steps to ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all children and parents in your daycare facility. Effective immediately I am pulling my child from the care of center. I believe that you can work towards a positive change in the management and staff culture of the daycare. I am willing to engage in a constructive dialogue to address these issues promptly, but it is essential that they are taken seriously and handled with the urgency they deserve. I look forward to your prompt response and resolution of these pressing matters. Thank you for your attention to this serious concern. Sincerely, Gea
