My sister spent her last chapter is the perfect place. When my sister had to be admitted to a nursing home we had no question that she needed to be in Delmar Gardens South. The staff became family and we appreciate all of the care and compassion given to her. Thank you to everyone!
Rose HarpJul 4, 2026Had two grandmas spend their final chapter here and, by one of the strangest coincidences imaginable, they both passed away on the exact same day about three hours apart. If nothing else, they clearly believed in carpooling. Let’s be honest: it’s a nursing home. Nobody is expecting a five-star resort with room service and a rooftop infinity pool. The place checks pretty much every box on the “average nursing home” bingo card. There’s occasionally a lingering urine smell, the staff always seem stretched thin, and you can tell they’re working with limited resources. That said, most of the staff genuinely seemed to care, even if they looked like they deserved a raise, a vacation, and a winning lottery ticket. The facility isn’t glamorous, but it functions. Residents are cared for, families can visit, and life keeps moving. If you’re expecting luxury, you’ll be disappointed. If you’re expecting a fairly average nursing home experience with all the good, bad, and awkward realities that come with elder care, this place lands squarely in the middle. A solid 4 out of 5. Not heaven, not a horror movie. Just kind of… nursing-home flavored vanilla. 🤷♂️

They really care about your recovery! And so nice and so much fun.. I had a roomate on my last night and it was like we were at summer camp! Talked & laughed alll night. Give them a try! Dorothy CooperApr 21, 2026I have done rehab here 3 times from Strokes all the staff from theTherapist (Tonya and so many more have been great), Nursing, Dietary, Housekeeping, the hair dresser, social services, and activities are all so friendly and caring. Everyone seems to like what they do. The staff remembered me from previous visits and have returned just to say hi even when not on my assignment. The food is great and the servers have been so caring and helpful. Overall a very good experience and would not go to SNF rehab anywhere else. My only downside is rehab rooms are not private but to get the care and friendliness that you get here it is so worth it.
Steve TiptonMar 11, 2026For the past seven years, my husband was cared for by so many staff members, from the business office to skilled nursing, therapy, rehab services and his needs were always met by loving and kind people. He could not have been in a better facility. It was clean and the grounds were beautifully kept. Every holiday was a special occasion from the decorations to exceptional food service. A variety of activities were offered on a daily basis and entertainment was provided for the residents . There aren't enough stars to rate the level of qualified medical personnel who attended my husband. It was comforting to know that he had the best of care since I lived far away and could not be there often. The hospice company that was used before his passing, was wonderful. How fortunate are those who live at Delmar Gardens South!
Phyllis TownsendMar 9, 2026This place is an absolute joke. I wish I could give a zero or NEGATIVE star rating. A few years ago, my great aunt was in this facility for long term care. They ended up over medicating her which caused her death (we have documentation from the hospital dr and coroner to back this up). More recently we have had nothing but problems during the last 2.5 weeks of my grandmother's stay. We decided to sign my grandmother out of this facility this past week due to negligence and the care she was receiving. Multiple times of visiting her she was laying in a urine soaked bed. One morning during a visit, my aunt walked in to find her sitting in her wheelchair with NO pants or undergarments on, just bare bottom on the wheelchair which I'm sure was not sanitized. Any time the call button was pressed it would take a minimum of 30-45 minutes for someone to arrive. I understand things get busy, but the very least they could have done was pop their head in to say they see the light and they will be with us ASAP. Most of the time we wpuld have my grandmother out of bed, to the bathroom and back in bed before anyone ever came. She required a special antibiotic and was supposed to recieve it 3x per day; at dinner time I asked if she would be receiving her antibiotic prior to dinner and I was told "It shows in her chart it was given to her at 4:30pm." I informed them that I got to her room at 4:00 and had been sitting there with her and she most definitely did NOT receive her medication. Their response "well, there's nothing I can do until 8:30pm because it shows she already had it." This was in addition to other issues we had with her receiving medications. Then we were told the facility does not have a diabetic menu and couldn't accommodate my grandmother's diet restrictions. Her blood sugar was 370 and they brought her chicken fettuccine Alfredo and two breadsticks the size of the plate for dinner!! There was another night that we were waiting on dinner and after asking several times, the nurse informed us that they ran out of dinner!!! Meaning, my grandma did not eat! Every single time you would ask for assistance from a nurse, or even just ask a simple question, they were so incredibly rude and seemed extremely bothered and inconvenienced. They drew blood from my grandmother every day but always said everything was fine. The day we brought her home, we took her straight to urgent care to find out she had a very severe UTI with possible sepsis AND pneumonia. What kind of place misses that???? I will say, we had a couple of very sweet CNA's assisting and the PT lady was so sweet, but overall this was by far the worst experience ever and I believe my family and I saved my grandmother's life by signing her out of this facility. Please please PLEASE do your research and avoid this facility at all cost!
