We had high hopes for this little daycare but after 2 months of attending treatment towards my son began to change. My son is an only child and had only been exposed to childcare at the YMCA previous to coming to eagles nest so day care in general was a new concept for him and an adjustment to say the least. Eagles nest knew this with him starting yet the few days we were there I recieved a call that my child was having a hard time and he was hitting other students and that if he persisted I would need to come and pick him up. Now two months went by and not a single complaint was given to me UNTIL about a week ago when Ms R the owner left for medical leave. The first day that she wasn't there I got a call that my son was acting out and hitting again. When I told them I'm surprised over his actions and that he's been doing really good the staff retorted with " well actually he be hitting EVERY day we just don't tell you" Excuse me what....you dont tell me how my child is behaving when I ask every day at pickup? You don't think it's important to express these concerns to the parent? How am I as a parent supposed to correct this behavior if I don't know it's happening? Also, how do you think parents are supposed to keep their jobs when they have to come take their kids home in the middle of the day because you all aren't educated in conscious discipline...we won't even divulge in the time my son came home from school telling me he's scared of his teachers and that someone grabbed him... Now the rest of that week every day when I picked him up we got scowls and attitude and bad reports every single day, while people entering after us got kind voices and nice treatment. At this point my son was begging me not to go to school and telling me how scared he is to go back to school. I made an executive decision to pull him that week. I reached out to speak with Ms R who was still on medical leave. She called me back promptly and gave me a 1000000% different report on my son that didn't include any of the hitting or negative behaviors that the other staff had been reporting to me all week. She seemed understanding but stood by her staff. I'm not sure if Ms. R just knows how to handle children or if none of the others know anything at all because when she's there these things don't happen but when she's not there's always problems 🤔 Id also like to note my son has NEVER had problem with physical violence before so why would he start now? SIDENOTE: we started my son at an ACADEMY and he's doing WONDERFUL no reports of negative behavior, daily updates and pictures. No reports of hitting or physical violence at all so WHAT was the real issue here???
Redd LavigneJan 29, 2025I had my daughter in this daycare for about 3 months when I pulled her out and stopped going. This daycare is not a place for children who can’t walk yet. She came home with matted hair everyday which means they leave her in the swing all day long. I asked the caregivers several days to change her outfit whenever I got there because she had tosses up on them and when I picked her up she was still wearing them even though I had provided them outfits. Every time I’d come pick her up or a family member she would be sitting in her car seat and sometimes would be asleep in the car seat. Which is not safe!!! Her daily feeding and bathroom logs began not to be sent home and the excuse I was given was she didn’t have a diaper bag. This is by far the worst experience I’ve had with child care.
Lily MarshalOct 15, 2024The Eagles nest child care center has a very safe, secure, pleasant kid friendly vibe that also has a daily curriculum. The staff is kind, caring and attentive. Price is relatively affordable compared to other daycare/pre school.
