  • It has been many years since my son been at Learn A Lot, and honestly, I was just happy to get him out, so much so that I didn't even want to write a bad review. Things started well, I was so hopeful. My son is on the spectrum, we were in the process of evaluations for him to go to a head start program, but I still had to have childcare in the meantime. I was very open with them about his challenges, and they assured me they were more than capable to handle his care. First, it was small things. Not listening. Not being "safe" Anytime he was hurt, it was because he wasn't listening. And then covid hit. Oh, did they use that to be unbearable. He sniffled, they called. He coughed, they called. He was "warm" they called. I was working 3rd shift, 12 hours. They would call at 12pm, which was basically my midnight. Sometimes I wouldn't even make it out of the shower before they called and told me to come get him, for some ridiculous reason. Mrs. Teresa, specially, was cruel, insensitive, and snide. She harassed me into forcing my doctor to give her a note for a none existent skin condition she insisted my son had. The doctor was furious that I was wasting their time. On top of that, the papers she gave me weren't even legitimate. The nurse had written the wrong date on the paper and had crossed it out and fixed it, she ACCUSED ME OF OF FORGERY. And refused to admit my son. Until contacted by my sons doctor. She was a bully with no communication skills. She will come on here and placate people into seeming reasonable, but behind closed doors, she is a sour person. This was back in 2020, I can't say for what it's like now. But the reviews speak for themselves, and it gave me the confidence to speak out about the unfair treatment I received from this woman when I desperately needed support as a new full-time working mother of a son with learning disabilities. I don't even want to get into how many times he came home hurt, scratched, bit. But it was always his fault. Or, it didn't happen there. He came with it. But he never came with anything, because I dropped him off myself frequently and picked him up the same day. I would not recommend this place if she original owner/leadership is in control.

  • It started off just fine. My son’s 1st teacher was amazing with him and we didn’t have any problems. My son hasn’t been at this school for more than 1.5 years. He has seen 4 teachers come and go in his classroom. That is already not good for a 3-4 year old. I had several meetings asking that my son get moved because he was not being challenged academically. They would always have some kind of excuse. I knew for a fact that Mrs. Allie didn’t like my son. I even stayed after dropping my son off and would watch how other kids would act. My son has had incidents that a kid scratched his face and when they called me they acted like it wasn’t a big deal. But when my mom went to pick him, it was worse than what they said. He still has a scare. I asked them to keep the little boy away from my son. But then weeks later the little boy bit my son on his back and that left a mark. Both times they didn’t act like it was a big deal. But yet they can write up reports when he wasn’t listening and want to have meetings about that but not when he is being physically hurt. They end up kicking my son out and I truly believe it’s because he is not apart of head start so they don’t have to “deal” with him. They can’t keep employees. When you bring situations to there attention they always try to make it seem like it’s not a big deal and it is. I stayed on top of them and I don’t believe they liked that. I wouldn’t recommend. I thought since it was a black school it would be good but they don’t have it together at all. It would be random days they would close early because the sinks and bathrooms aren’t working. Communication from the head to the teachers just aren’t there. They need some more training.

  • THIS IS AN ACTUAL REVIEW FROM AN ACTUAL CUSTOMER... In my completely unbiased opinion, Learn A Lot Academy has been nothing short of a GODSEND for myself and my family. THREE years ago, I decided to trust Teresa Givens/Jaleesa Walls with the care and development of my child...they have never disappointed!!! I have never questioned if my child was safe, learning, and truly cared for. THEY helped me get resources to help with my childs speech development. THEY communicate anytime my child gets the tiniest scratch or boo-boo. THEY have resources to get your childs' health screened on site during certain events. THEY even helped potty train my child when I was struggling as a new father. Anytime there is a closing/special event, the management/staff communicates quickly and gives plenty of time for parents to make other arrangements. The facilities are clean/secure and are designed for children to have fun and learn. The management staff at Learn A Lot are caring individuals that believe in respect and the teaching staff truly enjoys all the smiling faces that come through the door each day. If I had to do it all again, I would send my child to Learn A Lot Academy without any hesitation because they truly PREPARED my child for the next big step and I will always be grateful for the staff at Learn A Lot Academy.

  • I am updating my review because google notified me that someone found it useful. I served as the head of the parent committee and My child attended this facility for two years. Most of the teachers are really great. But the admin team falls short, specifically the owner. The lack of communication skills are true as other people have written. The owner cannot handle having difficult conversations at all when a parent voices a concern. The owner is one of the number one reasons I pulled my child from this facility. However, the facility itself is clean and well maintained. Your child will learn a lot here but they can also learn a lot elsewhere. It’s not the worst place in the world but the leadership definitely needs improvement. Also in 2020 they gave prize incentives to parents for leaving good reviews so many parents were convinced to leave a review for that specific reason. In conclusion, the 4 main teachers my child had over her two years were absolutely great and I appreciate them a lot but the owner really drags the review down.

  • As a former stay-at-home mom this is my first time using a child care center. In my search I was really nervous but it came highly recommended to use Learn-A-Lot. I am so grateful my child attends here. I know she’s loved and cared for in a safe environment that has a heavy focus on Kindergarten readiness and age-appropriate skills. All of the staff are friendly and the administration is extremely organized. We’ve been here 18 months now and I couldn’t imagine entrusting my daughter’s care to anyone else.

  • We have been a Learn A Lot family for almost 4 years now. My daughter started at 3, and she is now in first grade. My son started at 9 months and he is now pushing 5 and still at Learn A Lot prepping for kindergarten. The staff at learn a lot have become part of our family, and our everyday routines. My son is in Pre-K 3 with Ms. Lisa and Miss Kaitlyn who are both AMAZING. They learn so much, and the needs/interests of each child is always incorporated into what they’re teaching and what fun things they do. They do events like muffins with mom, donuts with dads, but also cultural events so that families are able to share their unique lives, and the kids are able to learn more about their friends. They send home news letters, and post announcements at the front desks so that families can stay in the loop. In all of our time here, my husband and I have only been concerned about one thing, which was the initial staff turnover. However, there is great permanent staff and it’s always clear that the people who WANT to truly be here are the ones that end up staying and sharing their impact.
