I do not recommend this school. My kiddo’s first couple of years there were great. We had excellent teachers, communication from the school was adequate, and I felt confident that my child was loved and well cared for. Then the school was purchased by an investment firm, and around the same time, teachers began to leave. I think there may be only one teacher still there from when we started. By the end, things were really rough. The school seemed desperate to staff the kindergarten room, which had a parade of substitutes. On the plus side, she made some great friends and so did we.
Penny HurdJun 26, 2026Union hill is no longer owned and operated by the two women that owned it for 31 years. It is owned by an investment company. It is not the same experience as when we started and it was a terrible ending. Unfortunately I would not recommend this daycare under any circumstances. It’s truly a shame.
Bridie Does BeautyApr 17, 2026It is hard to put into words the appreciation we have for the entire Union Hill team! Each and every teacher loves our little one as if he’s their own, and show him the most adoration! We are so grateful!
Jackson HobbsAug 1, 2025We love Union Hill Day School. We have an (almost) 5 year old son and a 1.5 year old daughter enrolled there who both started as babies in their infant room, so our family has been with UHDS for over 4 years now. They are truly like a second family to us. I have loved every teacher my kids have had and they treat our children like their own. Our kids enjoy being there which makes those morning drop offs so much easier. I’m also extremely impressed with their Montessori program and the emphasis on our children’s education and development . My son was telling me about all the continents at 3 years old and my 1 year old daughter is ahead of all her milestones and actively trying to help around the house (by cleaning up her plate after eating, putting her toys away, etc like they do at school). We are honestly so grateful to have found this school. Knowing our children are growing and flourishing and have such a wonderful support system has meant the world to us. We can’t say enough good things about UHDS. We would highly recommend to anyone!!
Natalie CummingsJul 31, 2025We’ve had our kids attending Union Hill since 2022, and even through all the hiccups and bumps associated with taking care of kids with different needs, staffing a childcare facility, colds/flu/stomach bugs/other pesky things, weather, etc., the crew Union Hill Day School has been fabulous to work with. They rarely (never?) close unexpectedly, their meals are decently healthy (they underwent a menu revision a couple years back that was much needed and a great improvement), though the snacks are classroom/teacher dependent and can be pretty unhealthy at times (one of our kids’ teachers particularly liked bringing in donuts and cake). The teachers are kind, and in the summer they have fun trips and activities planned for the kids (preschool age & up). The administrators are fantastic as well. Most importantly, the kids are respected, treated well, and the teachers seem to really enjoy the kids and love them. Bonus is that they start practicing their preschool skills, kindergarten skills, interpersonal skills , etc. I would recommend UHDS without reservation.
A EdJul 31, 2025I have two kids that have both been at Union hill day school since they turned two. My family was one of the charter families for the beginning of Union hill day school back in the day where my brothers and sisters went and had a great time so I toured and immediately knew my kids would be properly protected, looked after and taught early life skills and develop friendships. At first I had trouble letting go of my first born but miss Ethel miss Brooke and miss yessica all made it very easy with their huge hearts and loving nature. This school has many amazing teachers I’ve come to know and appreciate deeply for caring for my kids while I work a full time job & take care of myself again. Highly recommend this school!
