Was overpriced and overrated, some of the teachers were nice.
GraceAug 6, 2026Patrina is rude for no apparent reason! This facility is neither worth the headache nor the money. The uniforms are ridiculously overpriced and the schedule is not practical for anyone working a normal 8-5. Some of the staff are friendly, but definitely not Patrina. I would not recommend this place. Expect an attitude upon arrival. You have been warned!
Trisaina WebberMar 13, 2023I remember clearly when we shifted from India so had a lot of concerns for my son's education. We searched a lot of daycare but finally enrolled in KOL at Byram. We immediately got impressed by the infrastructure, cleanliness and faciality at KOL. They also allow us to visit and see the classes. We immediately enrolled him there and he studied there for almost a year. The staff provides good and quality education and they worked so hard in each and every child for developing their basics and foundation. We were glad to find KOL as the right place for my child since education skills taught by Mrs. Barnes are now helping him in his higher grade. They plan their education and develop kids in such a way that after finishing KOL child can easily progress to next grade smoothly. I recommend KOL as the perfect place to start for all parents who are looking for their child and particularly for those parents who are coming from non-English speaking countries.
Salahuddin ShaikhDec 25, 2021My child has attended KOL since she was 8 weeks old. The amount of nurturing and compassion they provide is topnotch. I wouldn't consider sending her anywhere else. If you do what is asked of you as a parent, your child will be successful. So thankful Mrs. Patrina and KOL is located in Byram!
AshleyJul 31, 2021The attitude of Patrina is ridiculous
LexisDec 25, 2019Long review alert! I remember calling them a few weeks after the school year started to get a last-minute enrollment for our son. Most of the schools I called didn’t answer or had a crazy enrollment/assessment fee. To be honest, I stopped caring about the fees and just wanted any place to put him. When I called, Mrs. Dace answered and offered a tour. A tour? The same day? No appointment? YES!! I took off and rushed straight to Byram. She showed us around and I was able to see his soon-to-be teacher in action (Mrs. Barnes). I was SOLD! Filled out the paperwork that day and had him seated that following Monday. Transparency: I was a bit frustrated at first because he was having a hard time adjusting from being with his grandparents all day – to a structured environment with other kids. UNTIL one day he said “Ma, I know how to write my name.” Keep in mind that he was only in school for a few weeks (less than a month), so I thought he was lying. Lo and behold, he was telling the truth. I even recorded it. His penmanship is even better than ours. I was genuinely amused. There are times when homework turns into 3hrs because he wants to write his letters exactly the way he was taught. Fast forward to this year- our son can understand homework without step-by-step directions. Some things being taught exceed what other schools are doing. I have a coworker who has her kids in a school in the Flowood area at twice the tuition. She said her kids didn’t learn half the stuff I tell her my son learns. She even mentioned that the only thing they had to know before pre-k graduation was how to spell/write their names. I can assure you that they know how to do more than that. I don’t even remember adding and subtracting at 4 – do you? I also love the fact that parents receive daily reports. Not one every few days, but one EVERY SINGLE DAY. The schedule for the month is also sent out. In closing, I would like to mention the AMAZING STAFF! I can’t recall her name, but there is a lady who helps with morning drop offs. She has short grey hair and is ALWAYS smiling. There are days when staff I don’t know refer to me by name. How do they know me? They take notice of the kids and observe, and it shows. That’s a big plus. They all seem like they genuinely love what they do. Sorry for the essay, but it was well earned!
