Older facility, but I enjoy seeing those around the country. Makes it feel like it’s not a copy-paste chain gyms, lots of Y buildings are unique and that’s what I like about the Y. Found it very odd to see signs like “clothing must be worn when showering in the open style showers” and the ones which have stalls say “curtains must be fully closed when showering” lmao. Never seen anything like that before and why would men even care as much about this. Weird to see this in a state like Montana where men take pride in hunting, fishing, serving the military and at the same time having such feminine views and behavior about this. Shower drain was clogged and was pooling, probably a temporary drain issue. Hate to give Y anything less than 5 stars, they are doing great things for kids and is a non-profit, Christian and historic organization. But I can see why people of Helena would want to have a newer Y, bigger pool, family locker rooms for kids, upgraded equipment and stuff because there is only one Y in Helena which has a pretty big population for MT cities.
Andrew StantonSep 26, 2025Never able to plan for my workouts because one day it's open until 9, the next 7, the next 6. I'm going to go ahead and go elsewhere for my workouts. What the hell? I have it two stars Because I've met nice people there.
High Country Courier High Country Courier Montana!Sep 3, 2025I’m a traveler from another state. Helena Y took me in like one of their own. Friendly and helpful and down-to-earth. Def recommend if you are in need.
Matthew FleenorAug 15, 2025If I could give negative stars I would. This place is a joke! They will charge you thousands of dollars, then double charge you on top of that. Then try and make it your fault they had to refund your money when you bring it to there attention! And Judi the "CEO" thinks she has the right to talk to people with the up most disrespect. They do NOT care about you or your child just their paycheck it's sad .
Maghan RadcliffJun 4, 2024I thought the ymca is about young families and giving young children a place to be safe and run off energy. I went in to buy membership for a young family, and was told don't waist your money. There is no open swim and oh and very little gym usage either. I cannot believe the board allows this to happen you are supposed to be about children and all you have is fitness for elderly and pickleball. Very dusappointed!!
