  • Small Wonder has been a pillar in our community for almost 36 years. For a parent’s heart, it is not always the easiest to hand over your most precious treasure but the growth Small Wonder has fostered for my children, I can never say thank you enough. From seeing the joy on my child’s face, to the support our family has felt from the staff during some of the harder times of raising a child, I feel the vision of Small Wonder has the children’s best interest at heart. Child care is not an easy feat, but Lacey faces the challenges with professionalism and grace. Thank you Small Wonder for your hard work and dedication to our children. As working parents, our careers are vital to our community and families success, and without Small Wonder, that foundation would crumble.

  • This is the brutal truth on why I left small wonder. I am all about helping others out and being a team player but it simply got out of control being in a different room everyday it seemed. It is not only unfair to myself but the kids and the parents! How are we supposed to build relationships when it's something new everyday?! I wasn't asked to move rooms I was always told. Heck some of my parents didn't even know I was still there because I was downstairs! The way some people are accommodated and others aren't is frustrating. Some people would ALWAYS be able to leave at there scheduled time and some would stay open to close and get the cold shoulder when asked if they could leave to pick up there kiof. They worked opening so they shouldve been off in time anyways to pick there kiddos up but no they offer to come back and still its a huge deal! We are not appreciated whats so ever! How some people call off 2 days a week on average and barely get anything said to them but if others have sick kids (myself) there expected to come in because we're short handed. Or exceptions are made for some but not others ( o come in with pink eye, o come in if ur kid puked that morning, o come in if ur having bm issues, ect ect) it's simply that employees children are not held to the same standards as non employee children simply because we are short handed. U are not asked to stay past scheduled time u are told, half the time management wouldn't stay past there scheduled time tho! Some higher ups are very rude when it comes to feedback I like upfront and honest I don't like rude or being talked to like I'm a 3 year old and certainly not shushed like one. It is extremely hard to know company expectations when you've worked there 4 months and have got maybe 30 minutes if that of "training" and keep being told you'll get trained and it never happens but getting in trouble because your winging it. Some people get away with full on screaming at children while others are scolded for having a child take a break in a chair for half straggling another child. Half the time a certain room is working out of ratio because she's confident in her room which the confidence is great but it's illegal! It's simply out of control and I couldn't do it any longer! Also the pay isn't worth what we deal with. My daughter also has lung issues in which they are WELL aware of and I requested for them to not take her outside under 30 degrees (she's 2) and was told I'd need a doctors note which ok whatever i have one but why that's my child I feel that's not a crazy request! After I had left I was talking with another parent on a situation where her child had a accident and was put in just a long shirt and underwear and taken outside in cold Temps without pants. UNACCEPTABLE! The child should have been moved to another room while her class was outside if there was not proper warm clothes available. Myself among others who have left didn't get anything said to them when giving notice other than "we need the fob back" how unprofessional! Mind you some being there upwards of a year or more whether consecutive or not and not a "thank you", or a "what can we do to keep you" NOTHING! Teenagers full on being bullied by grown woman is CRAZY! These are all honest examples from the past workers of small wonder. We all will miss the binds we have created with not only the kiddos but there families!
