This is a great program for women with children needing a place to get a hand-up instead of a handout. One of their goals is to see their participants on a path to careers they enjoy that will support them in market rents and some have even been able to buy their own homes. It is for women who want to take advantage of an opportunity to grow. I have also heard good things about the childcare program. My nephews went there and loved their class and teachers.
L HMar 2, 2026This entire establishment is infested with mice, down to the day care. My son developed Asthma and respiratory issues all while being in there & the doctors note I gave to the women in charge couldn’t care less about it. These women are NOT there to help you, they are there to get paid and go home. I have had some of their own staff members tell me they would NEVER live in the establishment themselves nor have their kids there. Attempting to speak up for you and the well being of your child will you get kicked out of the program as that is what happened to me. I became a threat once I started getting the city involved so they found it easiest to exit me and my child from the program in the middle of the day with no notice & also knowing we had no where else to go at the time. They are moving helpless mothers and children into their disgusting mouse infested apartments and telling us “it’s better than nothing” all while our kids are enduring deadly health/respiratory issues. Not to mention the severe ptsd I left with after. This place is not worth your child’s health or even your mental health! These women had no sympathy for what I experienced in their program & it has literally scarred me for life. I write this in hopes that this helps someone & saves them their time before having to endure what me and my baby did. I have also attached a few pics from the first day I moved in . Not only did they NEVER mention the infestation, they allowed me and my child to move in with all the mice poop shown in the pics. It was in the stove as well which I was cooking on for days before I realized. I wish I could upload the videos I took, 4-5 mice at a time EVERYNIGHT running around. It was completely sickening. I pray for those involved who are staying quiet with fear of being put on the street w their child. I pray that this establishment changes and they decide to do what’s right.
Alesha NorcrossNov 14, 2023I can not say enough about Marguerite's Place. I've seen this organization work first hand for the better part of a decade. Both volunteering for and donating to this organization has made me a better person. To see how much their mission means to the staff is something special. It's more than just a job to them. And to hear some of the young women who have been clients success stories over the years has brought a tear to my eye on many occasions. I look forward to hearing many more of these stories in the future and I wouldn't hesitate to send a member of my own family to get help from Marguerite's Place. It is truly a special organization.
John HarveyJul 11, 2023A rewarding experience volunteering at Marguerite's Place. Warm, supportive staff and a clear impact on our community. Flexible hours and enriching personal growth. Highly recommended.
Nico RamosJul 10, 2023I stayed here when my son was very young and it was strictly run and decent. I didn’t necessarily agree with all of their policies in terms of what they charged and expected of someone. Nonetheless I followed the rules and was there for over a year until I could go out on my own. Fast forward 10+ years and the place has gone down badly. They aren’t as strict as they were, but at this point I don’t thing the mission is to help women anymore. They have a time limit to how long you can stay, they do not keep up with the building or its furnishings. They have the same used (now mostly broken and rundown) furniture and appliances as they did over a decade ago. I have a young family member I recommended her to go here with her young child, and seeing the living situation that it is now saddens me. Serious mouse infestation - so if you are homeless please just be aware if you have health issues. Even the child care isn’t what it used to be, there is not a structure curriculum - seems to be just babysitters.
Littya EsquivelJun 23, 2023we did a food drop off it actually wasn't at their normal location this is at one of the houses that they have in downtown Nashua kind of like a halfway house.what I was doing was delivering some food to various homes and I had to stop off there to drop a few of them off to those folks because what had happened is a number of people had bid on some of the food plotters that we had made as a fundraiser for the charity.so I dropped a few off there at the national location and then dropped the others off at the people who had actually bid and had bought the platters I ended delivered to those folks.
