I was apprehensive about sending my 18 month old daughter to daycare but I truly had no choice. After doing research, we chose to come check out Altamonte along with a few others. This daycare is hands down the best day care I have ever dealt with. I truly never worry about my daughter because they take SUCH amazing care of her here. Trust me, I won't think twice about raising a concern when it comes to my kids but this place is truly amazing. Pros: - Plenty of meals and snacks. The kids have breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and snacks in between. My daughter eats WELL when she is here. I'm a little jealous, actually. - Dual-language. This is HUGE for us as we are raising our daughter to be bilingual. The staff here speak a good amount of English and Spanish. My daughter has come home singing songs and saying words in both languages that she learned at daycare. It truly makes me happy that they actually teach the kids here instead of just babysit them. - Live Cameras. We can log into the cameras whenever we want to check on our baby. Cool thing is you only have access to the age/room that your child is in so you don't have to worry about just anyone being able to log in and view cameras unless their child is also in that class. I log in and can watch her nap, dance, play, etc. -Friendly staff. The teachers and director here are amazing. My daughter says hi to the director every morning and is so excited to see her, followed by running into her teachers arms out of excitement when she gets to school. I was worried when my daughter first started that her needing a pacifier to nap was going to be an issue. Well after a week, they weened her off of it and now she naps with no paci, no problem. -CLEANLINESS. I cannot stress this enough. This place is spotless. They are CONSTANTLY cleaning. Every time I am there dropping off or picking up my daughter, or even checking on the cameras, the staff is always making sure the room is clean. Truly amazing. Cons: - Closing time at 530pm. It would be so helpful if they were open until at least 545 or 6pm. For parents who work full time and get off at 5, it's hard to get there by 5:30pm with traffic. However, I realize that this is more a ME issue than it is their problem, so it does not effect my rating of their service. - Old school tracking method. Currently, the center uses old school methods of tracking meals and other things. When I pick up my daughter at the end of the day, I get a piece of paper that is filled out with what she ate for the day and how her mood was. It will also tell me if I need any more supplies for her like diapers, wipes, etc. I think it would benefit the parents and staff to have a more update method of tracking, like the procare app or some other form of updated technology. It would be nice to be able to receive pictures of my daughter or see what her class is up to without having to log into the camera. Those little things can make a parent's day. It would also help to be able to use an app like that to directly communicate with the teachers in the class in case anything were to come up or to just get an update on how my daughter is doing, again, without having to check the camera. This is also just a preference thing on my end and does not effect my view of their service. Overall, Altamonte is truly a Godsent. If I ever have any more children, Altamonte will be the ONLY place, other than family, that I trust sending my babies to. If you are apprehensive, choose this place. You will not regret it.
Brittany ChavezApr 27, 2026My grandson loves his school! Miss Jeanette and his teachers, Miss Rosea and Miss Maria have made the transition to school so fun and enjoyable for him. We fondly call Miss Maria the "potty whisperer" because his toileting skills have been perfected by her care and attention. He loves getting up in the morning and going to see Miss Rosea and his friends every day for breakfast. I could not have asked for more caring and professional people to care for my grandson. The 2yr old class has been so enriching for him in so many ways. Miss Jeanette is an amazing person and director of the school. She is always ready with a smile and a helping hand. I appreciate her thoughtful administration of her programs. I recommend this school highly! Thank you!
Stephanie JonesJan 25, 2024I can not say enough great things about Jeanette and her team at Altamonte. They have loved, taught and helped my daughter grow in leaps and bounds. If you need a childcare facility that you can trust to care for your child like their own Altamonte is the place!
Kelly AlhonaDec 8, 2023If you have a child that won't be perfectly behaved the moment they start at this daycare, please go somewhere else. Within three days, they were telling me that the kids were on a "two week trial" and it "may not be a good fit" because my 3 year old is strong willed. She was determined to see what the fire alarm does and was climbing furinutre to get to it. She was even responding to redirecting They asked for tips on how to deal with her and I gave them a two sided paper with tips and ideas. The morning director and the afternoon director were obviously annoyed they had to deal with her. They started "keeping a paper trail" which included writing an incident report for potty training issues. They let her run around the classroom with her pants down for "1-2 minutes before she pulled them up" instead of just helping her pull her pants up. When she had a possible injury on the first day, it took them three hours to call me to tell me what was going on. I pulled my children after 4 days. They are now in another daycare where they are loved and taught instead of feeling like they're a burden to the people that are supposed to care for them for 8-10 hours a day.
Lauren GivensJul 25, 2022My son went here from the time he was 6 months old to when he started Kindergarten, my daughter is 3 and has been going here since she was 6 weeks. I love the staff and the environment. My kids learn and play and we've always felt so welcomed by everyone. My son needed special dietary accommodations while he attended. I had spoken with other daycares and they wouldn't even accept us because it would have been too difficult, but it was never an issue at AltaMonte. Jeanette never made it a big deal and insisted he wasn't treated differently just because sometimes he was served different food. When I first went back to work after each child it was such a comfort to have the app for the cameras and be able to watch my babies in their classes. I absolutely recommend this daycare.
Ashley HopsonDec 3, 2021My Kiddos have been going to this daycare for years. My oldest (9) since she was 2 yrs old. and My youngest (3) since she was 6 weeks old. The infant teachers were amazing and milestones I missed during the day were always told to me with excitement that evening. When it was time for my oldest to go to school she was ready for kindergarten. They are never late to get my child from school and they help with homework which helps so much.. The manager and staff are a caring and loving bunch no matter the age. Easy to talk to and always willing to listen. I highly recommend this place I never have to worry about my children being in their care. Thank you all so much!!
