Brittany MeehanNov 10, 2024If your child has the same opportunity to go here like mine does, you are beyond lucky and beyond blessed. This school is absolutely incredible on every level. We are so greatful for the many positive changes we've seen in our son Eli since him going here. The level of love and appreciation we have for a starting place is beyond words. We can't thank you all enough for all you do!!!!
Joey SisilliMar 18, 2024This school was the worst! My son was good to everybody and now these teachers are suspected him! And he hates all the teachers from 2014.

Questions parents ask about A Starting Place
Is A Starting Place a licensed child care provider in New York?
- Yes. A Starting Place holds New York registration 41692, listed as "LICENSE" by the Office of Children and Family Services, issued on January 13, 2023 and current through January 12, 2027. Confirm current standing with OCFS before enrolling.
What kind of child care is A Starting Place?
- New York licenses A Starting Place as a Day Care Center (DCC), which is centre-based care in non-residential premises. The category comes from the state's own register, not from the provider.
What ages does A Starting Place care for?
- New York licenses A Starting Place for 199 preschool places. Each figure is a ceiling the state set, not current enrolment.
Which school district is A Starting Place in?
- A Starting Place sits in the Pearl River school district, in Rockland County. New York records the district on the licence, which matters for school-age care and transport.
Does this page show inspection results for A Starting Place?
- No. New York's public child care roster carries no violation or inspection fields, and no separate statewide dataset of them was found, so nothing here reflects A Starting Place's inspection history either way. Look the provider up in the OCFS child care search to read its violations and whether they were corrected.
