  • My daughter attended Alcott for ages 2-5. She is now a kindergartener, and we are so grateful for her experiences at Alcott. The teachers at Alcott are absolutely wonderful, and created an excellent introduction to school and learning. The program is Montessori and ages are mixed in 3-5s, which we loved, because the older children lead the younger children. My daughter learned more than her letters and numbers, she learned to be confident in her self, and kindness. Alcott prepared her for kindergarten, but also fostered her curiosity and a love of learning.

  • We have 2 kids enrolled at Alcott in Dobbs Ferry. I tell this to people all the time, but feel like I should it put it in a review finally. Since discovering Alcott a little over a year ago, my now 4.5 and 3.5 year olds have learned grace, increased in their independence, strongly developed their curiosity to learn as well as problem solving skills. They’re much more emotionally aware. As for kindergarten prep, the older one surprises me almost weekly with her knowledge. The other day, daddy asked her if she knows how many months are in a year and after confirming “12,” he asked if one month has passed in a year, how many months are left, in which, 10 seconds later, she responds with “11.” She’s in early reading stages (site words, repeat words eg sat mat). The teachers here pour their hearts into their careers (head and assistant teachers). I couldn’t be happier with the care and education that our little preschools receive here everyday. I would only ask for after school care options at this location! Otherwise, I wouldn’t change a thing. I’m so deeply happy!
