  I've been sending my son (16 months) Rick to LGC for eight months and it has been a wonderful experience. Rick loves going and the staff seems to love him, too. The hours are good and the vacation schedule is reasonable. Can't recommend LGC enough!

  We feel so lucky to have spent the last 1.5 years at Lefferts Gardens Childcare. It’s a fantastic gem in PLG: a warm at-home daycare with outdoor space (a great backyard) for the kids to play in. Ms. Janet and her team have created the most wonderful environment, and they are all warm and truly invested in the growth and development of the kids there. We’ve watched our kid flourish so much — he’s curious and loves learning and they really help foster and encourage that in him. His language skills really took off, and I am convinced he learned how to walk by watching the older kids in the room. All of the teachers are supportive every step of the way and I really valued their insight when new-to-us things would come up. They’re also just a pleasure to chat with, and have so much fun with the kids! LGC is such a gift to the families in this neighborhood and we’re so grateful to have found our way.

  Our time with Lefferts Garden Childcare was amazing! Complete disclosure: LGC was our second daycare for my son, so I truly do have something to compare it to. I needed a safe daycare where my son’s mind and body would be nurtured. And, especially as a solo parent, I needed a place that made my life easier, not more complicated. We found all of that and more when we switched my son to LGC, when he was 10 months old. The staff is experienced, caring, loving, and flexible! My son’s easy, amiable, and will enjoy most situations. So I wasn’t surprised that he transitioned seemlessly to LGC from his former daycare. However, even more, he instantly excelled here, even exceeding my high expectations! Immediately, he felt comfortable. He giggled and chatted away with the staff happily upon every arrival and said “bye bye and thank you” every evening - drop offs and pick ups were a joy. LGC has a stimulating and very safe facility and environment, with a fantastic private outdoor space. It’s always so fun picking the kids up outside and seeing them playing with each other on the warmer days. The staff does a wonderful job of keeping parents informed and they’re very communicative. You’ll receive daily reports on your child’s diet for the day, bowel movements, overall energy and health, etc. Which I found extremely comforting. The staff will also send you occasional photos of your child playing alone and with peers. The daycare schedule and yearly calendar are well documented, clear, and make sense, as it basically follows that of the DOE. If we had to do daycare all over, we would be thrilled to return to LGC! We couldn’t recommend them more! As well, I understand that they’re expanding their 2+ program AND that they’re planning to bring in a music instructor to do weekly music and movement classes starting in the Fall! How exciting! Like the kiddos they care for, I look forward to seeing LGC continue to thrive and grow! Thank you thank you LGC!

  Our daughter attended Lefferts Gardens Childcare for a year before we moved out of state. The staff is so caring, and she gained so much confidence and her social and communication skills exceled. Miss Jackie has so much positive energy and made our daughter feel loved, safe, and excited each day to go to daycare!   I highly recommend Lefferts Gardens Childcare. Our son has attended this daycare for two years and has grown into a confident, polite, and social toddler thanks to the care and guidance of the experienced LGC staff. There is a very low turnover; the caretakers clearly enjoy their work and love the children. Thank you, Miss Jackie, for your enthusiasm and warm smiles! The cosy facility is very clean and the director, Miss Janet, takes health precautions seriously. There is also a lovely outdoor play space.
