  • Melville Jewish Center is my and has been my spiritual home for my entire family for 30 years. It is a warm, welcoming and inspiring community to grow and explore with. Our new rabbi has enhanced our overall experience and atmosphere at temple. She is warm, creative and very approachable. There is so much offered at Melville JC. I couldn’t imagine being affiliated anywhere else.

  • As I mark my 50th year of being involved with Melville JC (formally SHJC) I have the fondest memories of my family Synagogue. I was very active in sisterhood and was honored being the first Roberta Greenberg Queen Esther’. I was on the Synagogue board and my husband was active in Men’s Club. My daughter was bat mitzvah here, Married by the Rabbi, She raised 3 children who were all baby named and bar mitzvah inside the synagogue and 2 thus far have been Married by the Rabbi. My great grandsons go to EC. My oldest daughter was very active in Youth Group. My youngest daughter is even a past co-president. We spend so much of our social life centering around the synagogue. For my family, Melville JC is not just a place to worship but a place for family, a place to belong, to feel a part of. A place where friendships start as early as the Early Childhood programs and continue 30 plus years later. A place where my Granddaughter and her husband went to Religious School together and got married. A place to feel safe and comfort through good and bad times. Melville JC was the center of my life for the years I lived in Dix Hills and now as a Florida Resident it’s still my synagogue. It’s home and as we embark with a new Rabbi I am so looking forward to what the future holds with the dynamic Rabbi Rosenthal.

  • My family has been members for many years. It is a warm, down-to-earth congregation with many nice events to attend and many opportunities for involvement. The Rabbi and the Cantor are exceptionally friendly and very approachable and you know they will be there for you in times of need. They are welcoming to all.

What kind of child care is Melville Jewish Center?

No. New York's public child care roster carries no violation or inspection fields, and no separate statewide dataset of them was found, so nothing here reflects Melville Jewish Center's inspection history either way.
