We love Organic Kids! Absolutely the best. Our children are so happy there. Meals and snacks prepared on premises, outside every day, morning routine, kids yoga and music and art… warm kind and fun child care providers. Great communication with parents. We are so grateful to be a part of this loving, child-centered community!
Amie CastaldoSep 7, 2025Our daughter had a wonderful experience with Organic Kids for after school care and summer camp! She loved the field trips (especially Governor’s Island). I also once received a comment from a neighborhood parent that they happened to see our daughter with one of the OKCC caregivers (walking from school to the care location) and said the caregiver spoke to our daughter with such kindness and were impressed by the quality of care. We feel lucky to have high quality Organic Kids in our neighborhood.
Tawny TsujiSep 15, 2024Just coming back here to add my review of the new OKCC summer program for older kids (5+) which my 6 year-old son is doing this summer. It’s been great! Lots of fun trips (weekly pool, Bronx Zoo, natural history museum, Governor’s Island, roller skating, etc.) and outside time. Plus we appreciate that it goes to 5:30 pm but is still less expensive than the larger camps. Editing to add: we are also really happy with the social environment of the program. Last summer, we sent my son to a big camp and it was fine, but there were different kids and counselors every week - it was just too much weekly change and too big an environment. But the OKCC program seems just right for him at this age - it’s got fun “big kid” activities but I think my son appreciates that Maria and her staff are consistent all summer and that most kids attend for multiple weeks or the whole summer, so he doesn’t need to make entirely new friends each week. I know the trend these days is to send kids to a different camp each week, but we are in week 5 at OKCC and my son has never said he’s bored —he seems really happy to have new activities but with the same people. And as parents we are happy to have fewer transitions too!
Sophia BernhardtAug 11, 2023The providers response to my original google review about my daughters traumatic lived experience while attending Organic Kids further solidifies my sentiments towards this childcare program. Since dealing with this heartbreaking and overall unsatisfactory childcare experience I have had the pleasure of working with B&J Wonderland Daycare. They are amazing, professionally outstanding and truly wonderful with children. I can’t speak highly enough about this daycare!! In addition, they also have cameras onsite which is truly refreshing and reflective of the owners competency in staff members. Tips I wished I would have received prior to selecting this program. - Ask thorough questions. - Collect unbiased feedback. For the discrepancies incurred, investigate how the problem was solved with those involved. - Have your child tour and interact with staff members prior to selecting a program. - Lastly, always listen to your child. If they seem hesitant or uncomfortable in any way, please explore their feelings to immediately learn more. Sending a ton of well wishes to those surveying reviews on the search for great childcare, I have totally been there! Along the way, please share your experiences within your community, don’t wait as long as I did :-(. It’s truly helpful for the parents who are still actively searching for high quality childcare. Hoping NO ONE ever has to experience what my daughter and I went through with Organic Kids or the gaslighting that we are continuing to heal from. Please feel free to Contact me if you have any questions regarding this review.
Nora HowellMar 17, 2023DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN TO ORGANIC KIDS!!!!! DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN TO ORGANIC KIDS!!!!! DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN TO ORGANIC KIDS!!!!! I remember when I first visited Organic Kids. It was highly recommended by a colleague of mine at Columbia University for my (then) 4 year old daughter. Upon visiting its physical location, I was a bit hesitant due to the people I saw hanging out In front of the building. However, once I met with the owners Maria and Kasey the warmth and infrastructure of this daycare won me over. The menu, playroom and cultural diversity marked off all the checks on my list. My daughter seemed to be enjoying herself while attending organic kids and would tell me about her activities everyday after pick up. Our last day at organic kids my daughter told me that she was grabbed by one of the owners and slapped on the arm by an employee on the same date! I immediately decided to withdraw my daughter! I was in disbelief, and my heart broke hearing this news. My daughter’s experience was so alarming ACS was contacted due to her communicating her experiences to school and medical professionals. This experience has created extreme mistrust for my daughter and myself. Child abuse is never something a parent hopes to encounter and I would not wish this experience on my worst enemy. The emotional trauma incurred from this experience is something I continuously must address and converse about with my daughter, to ensure she knows that her experience was not warranted. After a few months of having family and friends pick my daughter up from school she was finally ready to go back to afterschool. I was able to place her into another afterschool program where I explained to them about my daughter’s horrible experience, and they welcomed her with loving and open arms. I never could have imagined that I would have to deal with ACS, school, and medical officials, missed days at work, unimaginable stress and my daughter’s emotional trauma from an afterschool program. To make matters worse, the day care providers denied all accusations and even proposed that I review statistics of 4-year-old and their ability to fabricate their experiences. This experience has taught me so much. I implore all parents to seriously consider if you’re willing to risk your child’s safety by selecting Organic Kids. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN TO ORGANIC KIDS!!!!! DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN TO ORGANIC KIDS!!!!! DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN TO ORGANIC KIDS!!!!!
NoraJul 27, 2022OKCC has been a wonderful place for our son. He has thrived, made wonderful friends, learned a ton. Maria, Kasey and all the caregivers are the best. They are responsive to any questions, and go above and beyond for the children in their care. Truly the best parenting decision we’ve made is sending out child to them for daycare.
