We are so thrilled to have the opportunity to have our daughter attend Riverside Daycare. The team of caregivers and staff are simply lovey - energetic, happy, caring and exceedingly professional! Our daughter leaps into their arms when the door opens! RD produces a weekly thematic curriculum that aligns to seasons, monthly holidays, etc., and which is communicated to parents through a monthly newsletter. During the summer months they take advantage of the great playgrounds, pop-up events, and activities of neighboring Riverside Park (children are dressed in numbered aprons - genius!). They also do routine fire drills - our daughter now points out a building's sprinkler systems, and points at doors saying, "Hot! Hot! No touch!" They provide a comprehensive nutritious meal plan, and communicate through their app how much the children did or did not eat, and of what. The app is also updated throughout the day with pictures of activities, changes, etc. We feel very attuned throughout the day as a result. Our daughter is a bundle of happiness everytime we pick her up - "Did you have fun?" "YEEES!!!" - and we constantly find ourselves asking (knowingly) "where'd she learn THAT!?!" She continues to develop by leaps and bounds in the care of the RD team. We count ourselves as very fortunate to have them as a vital extension of our family.

Our daughter always looked forward to daycare each day, and, as parents, we felt great knowing she was being taken care of by a team who truly loves her and cares about her safety and development. Plus, we were always so impressed with the different activities she got to experience each day! Riverside Daycare feels like an extended family to us - I'd highly recommend them to anybody looking for childcare in the area.

It would be an understatement to suggest that it was difficult for us as new parents to drop our baby off with strangers, but Christina and her team were very supportive, provided assurance when we needed it, and before we knew it, Riverside Daycare became an indispensable part of our lives. Since then, our daughter has become part of a close-knit group of daycare friends, she has experienced rapid intellectual, social and physical growth, and now, she runs from her stroller to hug her Riverside Daycare caregivers each morning when we arrive. We are incredibly grateful to be part of the Riverside Daycare family, and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone in the difficult process of finding daily care for their young child.
Benjamin BakerFeb 9, 2023Riverside Daycare was a lifesaver for our family. My daughter started there after 6 months at a large day care center and 2 months at home during COVID. From the beginning, the Riverside team did everything possible to make us and our daughter feel welcome and safe. We loved the personalized attention and family atmosphere, and she was excited to see her friends and teachers there every day. She learned so much and not only that, we were very happy with the way the team encouraged socialization with kids of all ages. She walks around our house putting things away and singing the cleanup song, loves to help, and has learned to be gentle with people, animals, and objects. I have never felt a moment's concern about her safety or happiness at Riverside. We really felt like part of the family and are so grateful for everyone there.

Our son grew and learned so much while in their care, and we felt confident in his safety. He attended from 6 months to 2 years of age. It is also one of the most affordable childcare options on the Upper West Side, and an amazing value for what you pay!

Christina, the director, is highly professional, running the daycare smoothly and with excellent communication. The daycare is loacted close to many great playgrounds which was very important to us as we wanted our kid to be outside as much as possible. I highly recommend!
