  • This review is for the swim program. We have gone through 3-4 swim programs in the area, and I have been most impressed by this one, which is why I continue to make the hike up here from New Rochelle. We doubled up on classes and had a phenomenal instructor (I will say that most, though not all, appear to be really good) and my 3.5 yo is now basically swimming on her own, at least for distances of about 10-15 ft. Jessica, the director, is also really nice and flexible. I do wish I didn’t have to follow up as much as I do for credits/refunds for cancelled classes. But on the whole, I recommend the program.

  • Great facilities and pricing but the parking situation is a nightmare in itself.

  • I have been a member for over 5 years and have even visited different YMCA locations when I’m away, but the Rye location is my favorite—hands down. It has a wonderful atmosphere, strong sense of community, and great programs. I’ve enjoyed taking their workout classes. One of the best parts is that they offer child watch, so while I’m working out, I know my son is being cared for. My son also attends pre-K there. Not only does he love going, but he’s creating memories he won’t stop talking about! He is very engaged, active, and always learning. They offer programs like basketball, karate, lacrosse, swimming, and more there’s truly something for everyone. It keeps kids busy and active, which is such a big help at the end of the day. And I can’t forget about summer camp it’s a fun, productive, and enjoyable experience for all the children. Overall, I’m very grateful and consistently satisfied with my experience at the Rye YMCA. Everyone is helpful from the parking staff to the front desk, teachers, instructors, and cleaning staff. They always make me feel welcome. Like any establishment, they have rules and guidelines, but they do their best to listen to everyone’s needs. It’s clear that their main priority is the safety of their community, and they are always striving to improve—and it truly shows.

  • Teachers and staff are so helpful and positive. Got a great workout in some of the water aerobics classes.

  • Enough. I have resisted writing a public review for years, but the attitude of workers at the Rye Y needs tremendous improvement. It is supposed to be a community "service" organization, but the staff knows little about "community" or "service". Please work on this. For now, I am canceling my membership and joining a proper gym that employs kind and helpful staff -- not arrogant, rude, and hostile "people."

  • Fitness center is good, but the hours for the teen passport program are honestly horrible, almost every kid in the area has sports practice and has no time to workout after them. When I did the program I got kicked out of the gym after two days of using it because I got back home at 4:30 and I was quite literally unable to workout for more then 15 minutes. I hope whoever is reading this genuinely considers raising the hours to at least 6:00.

Is Rye YMCA a licensed child care provider in New York?

Yes. Rye YMCA holds New York registration 874157, listed as "PENDING REVOCATION" by the Office of Children and Family Services, issued on July 15, 2025 and current through July 14, 2029. Confirm current standing with OCFS before enrolling.

What kind of child care is Rye YMCA?

New York licenses Rye YMCA as a Day Care Center (DCC), which is centre-based care in non-residential premises. The category comes from the state's own register, not from the provider.

What ages does Rye YMCA care for?

Which school district is Rye YMCA in?

Does this page show inspection results for Rye YMCA?

No. New York's public child care roster carries no violation or inspection fields, and no separate statewide dataset of them was found, so nothing here reflects Rye YMCA's inspection history either way. Look the provider up in the OCFS child care search to read its violations and whether they were corrected.
