  • We have been with TeachNTumble for almost two years now and both of our little ones will be graduating this summer. I could not give a higher endorsement of Ms Brenda's care and attention. It is an amazing feeling to have complete trust and faith when you put your children in the care of another. She has earned it. Our boys are in a small group and get amazing attention every day and they have thrived! Thank you Brenda for a wonderful experience!

  • I reached out to Brenda after seeing her daycare come up time and time again in my local Facebook parents' group. She took the time to walk me through her program and answer any questions I had. As my son has a food allergy, she worked with me to have a game plan in place which I really appreciated and helped put my mind at ease. My son started and she really held all of our hands as it took him a good month to adjust (nap time was the culprit). At the beginning/ end of the day she always gives a quick synopsis of whatever agenda we are working on- manners, potty training etc. She gives you a sheet you collect at the end of the day summarizing how the day went. Brenda really does go above and beyond to care for each child individually with varied activities- going for a group stroll, arts and crafts projects, dancing, playing in the backyard outside. We are so happy with our experience with Teach n Tumble we put our daughter there as well. Teach n Tumble is an intimate daycare facility, with a smaller group setting and she emphasizes each individual child's needs which can sometimes be challenging when going with a larger daycare (more kids than the 6 Brenda has). We are so happy with our decision to put our kids in the capable and loving hands of Brenda!

  • Over the past year of being with Ms. Brenda at Teach and Tumble Daycare, she has become a part of our family. Our son joined her daycare as a very reserved, non verbal child. One year later, he has become extremely outspoken and outgoing and has made a huge transformation under her care. It's such a difficult decision to leave your child with someone when you have to go to work every day. However, when I drop my son off with Ms. Brenda, I never worry. She provides a safe, happy and loving environment. She has taught my son and all of the children such good manners. They're all so polite. My son has learned so much from her and has really come out of his shell. She provides a curriculum like a daycare center but in a warm and friendly home, it's really the best of both worlds. She has a schedule of circle time, free play, outdoor play, music/dance, arts and crafts and story time. She is warm, friendly, caring and treats the children like her own children. I really believe she does love them. She's down to earth and such a good person and I wish we didn't have to ever leave her. The only reason we're leaving is because it's time for us to move on to a school now, but she will forever have made a good impression in our son and our hearts. She provides daily feedback on meals eaten, potty, activities for the day, and nap time duration at the end of each day. I find this so reassuring that I know what my son's been up to. I feel such a good sense of communication from her and she always reaches out to let us know if anything is going on. She has really just taken such good care of our son and she's a huge asset to the Port Washington community. I highly recommend Teach and Tumble daycare.

  • My husband and I live in Port Washington. I returned to work when my oldest daughter was 3 months old and she started Teach & Tumble fulltime. When our second daughter was born, she also entered into care with Brenda fulltime. As hard as it has been for me to separate from my girls, I continue to feel great knowing that they are in excellent hands with Brenda and her team. From the littlest things that you might otherwise take for granted: • Brenda changes their diapers more frequently than I do at home (never a diaper rash) • She reapplies sunblock throughout the day (never a rosey cheek) • Brenda sends pictures throughout the day, especially when she knows I am missing them more after a long weekend of being together • She follows along with their dietary needs, etc. To the things that you worry about most, which are not a concern at Teach & Tumble: • The facility is beyond clean. My girls are rarely ever sick. • Brenda follows a strict schedule each day – naps, mealtimes and snacks, circle time, walks/play outside, stories, music, baking, playtime, etc. Teach & Tumble runs like a school with the benefit of being in a loving home. • In all the years it has operated, Teach & Tumble has never had a negative report from the state. The reports are public knowledge, and it seems rare for a facility like T&T to have such a perfect record. • Brenda and her team are the most loving caregivers. Each morning its as if I am dropping them off with family members. Melissa, one of her team members, routinely babysits for us on the weekends – we choose to have her in our lives. With regard to curriculum, my girls are head over heels ahead of their peers in terms of knowing their colors, shapes, ABC’s, etc. Their fine motor skills developed appropriately thanks to lots of playtime with legos, playdough, coloring, painting, magnatiles, etc. Although they’re quite young, they are obsessed with and very good at puzzles. Imaginative play with dolls, trainsets, dollhouses, toy cars, outdoor playhouse, toddler basketball hoop, kitchen set, etc. In terms of the aspects of life I wish I was home to teach them myself, they are learning these things instead at Teach & Tumble. They’re developing a very loving and caring nature which I know they are mimicking from the others at Teach & Tumble. They’re learning to share, to feel empathy. They’re learning manners – to say please and thank you, etc. – which many take for granted but really must be taught. In short, we feel very fortunate to have found Brenda and Teach & Tumble. I know in my heart and in my gut, and have seen the evidence in my daughters, that Brenda is shaping my girls into bright and loving human beings.

  • This place has been a life saver. I initially needed part time care and that is hard to find, Brenda worked with me to find a schedule that worked first with my son and then with both my son and infant daughter. Now, my son has graduated out of teach and tumble, but will still go back when his school is closed and both he and the staff love the visits. My daughter now goes full time and is growing so much there. You can tell that Brenda (the owner) and staff all truly care about the kids and want them to be happy and healthy. Brenda has worked through quite a few transitions with my kids and always has an ear to listen and words of advice to help the kids through the day (or to send a picture to make mommy feel better while at work). Most recently we worked together to keep my daughter hydrated when she decided to refuse bottles, it was great knowing someone was going to be on top of it (even more so than I might have been) to make sure she was eating and drinking enough. I know I found a good place when 99% of the time the kids are happy to go and that other 1% they are happy within minutes of drop off and mad at me if I pick them up early because they want to play with their friends.

  • I have sent my child there for over 2 years. The woman who runs it, Brenda, is wonderful with all of the children along with her fabulous staff. They have helped my child with a speech delay. They have helped transition multiple children’s from the daycare to preschool or kindergarten. The price is reasonable and the hours of operation are extremely convenient for our family. We will be sending my other child there as well. I highly recommend this incredible daycare to everyone.
