My two children both grew up at The Children of Somers Daycare since the time they were ~1.5. I honestly can't imagine trusting anyone else with them. Miss Liza and Miss Grace (a daughter and mom team) and Miss Shenise, Ms Stephanie and Ms Bianca truly treat your kids like family at this small home daycare. They love them as individuals and give them the personal attention and support they need to grow and mature. They teach them to be kind, respect others and care for the environment. The place is spotless, and it shows. My kids got sick much less often than friends who went to other daycares, even in the midst of COVID-19. All the teachers are incredibly safety conscious and excellent communicators. It's a great central location and they are always open, even with snow etc, which is a huge help for a working parent. You can count on them. Ms Grace takes incredible pride in homemade, nutritious meals, and somehow my picky eaters happily eat everything from broccoli to beans to ground turkey. The learning program is great - everything from letters/numbers to potty training to hygiene (wash your hands!) to the natural world. The summer program is fun too, with water play, sand tables, sensory play and more. Both of my kids were more than ready for Kindergarten because of the foundation Liza and Grace gave them. We feel so lucky to have been part of this daycare family.
M MattelsonJul 27, 2026I feel so lucky to have now had my second child graduate from Children of Somers ! Miss Liza runs an immaculately clean, fun, loving environment and gave both of my children the tools they needed to be BEYOND ready for Kindergarten. My son started there at just 4 months old and as a new parent i was full of nerves ! Miss Grace and Liza made the transition quickly worry free. As a working parent there is no greater gift than to drop off your children in a safe wonderful environment - and the cherry on top - top notch nutritious home cooked meals. So grateful for the last 7 years!
Emily KochJul 6, 2026Truly a hidden gem right within Somers. A team that loves your children like their own and becomes family. The learning program is advanced, the meals are delicious and the attention to detail, structure and TLC is remarkable. The Children of Somers will always hold a very special place in my heart.
Kimberley StephensDec 15, 2025We love love looooove this amazing daycare. Sister Grace and Liza took care of my previous egg from the time he was 2 months old up through the after school program once he started school. They were and still remain a true extension of our family. They treat every child with such love and care as if they were their very own. You are blessed if you are able to enroll your precious child here-strongly recommend!!
E Q_ROct 3, 2023I cannot recommend the children of Somers daycare enough. Liza, Grace and Stephanie are such wonderful, kind and encouraging people. Their daycare is immaculate, they use a wonderful individualized curriculum, huge emphasis on incorporating nature based activities, planting, they make every holiday and birthday so special for every child and celebrate life in such a fun and exciting way! My son started when he was 2 and from the moment he started we felt like family. I felt so confident and reassured about the type of excellent care my son was receiving and I was grateful for that every single day. He absolutely thrived in their care and we will miss them all so much!
Lauren ZottoliOct 3, 2023This is a small daycare where the teachers from the local school system send their own kids. What else is there to say? We have been fortunate to be able to have our two kids start their lives in this daycare. They are caring and extremely responsible. They actually TEACH the kids. My eldest son Graduated from here into Kindergarden and was ahead of the other kids.
