  • We’ve had a truly wonderful experience with the Indy Lab. What sets this preschool apart is its deep commitment to social and emotional learning—a cornerstone of early childhood development that is often overlooked. From day one, the teachers / directors Ms Frida / Ms Lara have created a nurturing, inclusive environment where every child feels seen, heard, and valued. The curriculum beautifully weaves emotional intelligence into daily activities. Children are taught how to recognize and name their feelings, express themselves appropriately, and develop empathy and respect for others. Through guided play, group discussions, and gentle conflict resolution strategies, the children learn the importance of cooperation, kindness, and resilience. The staff’s intentional focus on building strong, trusting relationships helps create a safe space where children can take risks, grow their confidence, and thrive socially. If you’re looking for a preschool that prioritizes the whole child, the Indy Lab is a standout choice. We couldn’t be more grateful for the foundation they are helping build for my child’s future.

  • As a mom with a Ph.D. in Language, Literacy, and Learning, I initially approached this nursery school with a professional lens, looking for a program that aligned with my understanding of best practices in early childhood education. What I found far exceeded my expectations—not just as an expert, but more so as a mom. From a professional perspective, I was drawn to the school’s emphasis on playful literacy, an approach deeply rooted in neuroscience. By embedding language and pre-literacy skills into fun, interactive play, the program supports critical literacy and language development while fostering a love of learning. The bilingual aspect is another standout, providing children with the cognitive and cultural benefits of dual-language exposure during this formative stage. These elements assured me that my daughter would receive a strong, research-based foundation for her academic future. But as a mom, what has truly touched me is how much my daughter loves going to school each day. She is thriving in an environment that feels warm, joyful, and deeply supportive. The engaging activities spark her curiosity, build her confidence, and encourage her to explore and grow. I’ve seen her language skills blossom, her social-emotional development flourish, and her enthusiasm for learning take off in ways that are nothing short of inspiring. The school also recognizes the importance of family in a child’s education. The parent training they offer has been invaluable, equipping me with practical tools to support her learning at home and creating a true partnership between school and family. This program has exceeded all my expectations—not just as an educator who values evidence-based practices, but as a mom who wants the very best for her child.

  • The improvement in my son in a few short months is immeasurable. I can tell he feels so safe and loved. The school is organized, immaculate, the curriculum is well-thought, the teachers and staff are as knowledgable as they are kind. I’m so happy we found Indy Lab!

  • Following up on my initial review a year ago, I wanted to add how over this past year Indylab has expanded our son’s horizons in ways we didn’t think was possible from a preschool program. Whether it is learning about our solar system or helping him get comfortable in water activities during summer camp, we are thrilled with the atmosphere Indylab continues to provide to allow our son to grow!

  • Hands down the best decision we could have made for our little one. While researching preschools and daycares, we were focused on finding a place for our pandemic firstborn to be safe and learn to socialize. We found exactly that and more with The Indy Lab. The educational component and learning through play has been incredible. We've been amazed at the benefits/results of playful literacy - within the first week we could see the advancement in speech, communication, observation and vocabulary. Frida (the director) and her team are absolutely wonderful - professional, caring - and the fact that my little one asks to go to school speaks volumes to the environment that's been cultivated there. I can't say enough good things about The Indy Lab. We just absolutely love it and are so happy that we found it!

  • My husband and I are transplants to Tarrytown and barely knew anyone/ had a network in Westchester. The Indy Lab was a new school when we started and we are blessed to have found them. The curriculum was designed by speech pathologists and has a focus on language development and different modes for children to learn language (multi-sensory learning). All of the teachers are engaging and focus on interactive play which is something as a parent I am lacking. It's great to see the amazing ways they work with children to get them to think and relate in different ways. I highly recommend this program - teachers are approachable and reasonable with specific requests. There is also a social aspect for parents and/or kids to connect outside of school to build a network in the community.
