We have been extremely pleased with Harwell and their staff. My son absolutely adores his teachers and classmates. The curriculum is fantastic and his growth has really shown.
Matt McCormickJun 25, 2026My daughter’s teachers and the class – fantastic My comfort level in school leadership and operations – no confidence Our experience with the classroom staff at the OC Harwell location was great. Our daughter genuinely enjoyed attending, developed strong relationships with her teachers, and appeared to thrive in her classroom environment. The teachers in the 2yo class in particular, are exceptional educators who demonstrated care, professionalism, fun, and attentiveness. Based solely on the quality of the classroom experience and teaching staff, we would have rated that aspect of the program very highly. The main reason in our decision to quickly withdraw our daughter was due to what close friends of ours overheard at another Harwell location in March about the OC location. Our friends had their child enrolled at the other Harwell location at the same time ours attended the OC Harwell location. According to them, they overheard a concerning and clear statement made by one of the owners/board members (initials are AM) regarding the OC location while waiting to pick up their child. They immediately told us what AM said because they knew our child was at the OC Harwell location and the comment he made would severely impact us. We gave our notice based on that comment. It appears AM didn’t know our friends were standing outside of his office when he made the comment and they overheard it. Our friends said it was loud and quite clear. When this comment was made, the other Harwell location that our friends were still at (but ended up quickly withdrawing their child that month) was in a complete uproar. Their director walked off the job and didn't come back, they physically shrank a classroom size and closed the outdoor play area with an estimated reopening date of around a year, all of their teachers didn't show up one day with no notice to parents, and parent concerns weren't addressed. With their leadership being the same as the OC Harwell location, we had no faith left in Harwell leadership and operations. We also have emails from this organization stating that if parents provide online 5-star reviews, they will be rewarded. And if you look through all of the reviews, you'll notice employees have left some, including board members. This skews the online ratings. *We also want to point out that enrollment at the OC Harwell location is low and you can connect the dots on what happens to daycares with low enrollment.*
Molly HitchenMay 22, 2026Harwell has been a blessing for our daughter. Miss Emily and miss Renee are so wonderful to interact with and they communicate everything with us about our daughter throughout the day on procare. Our daughter has done great with the curriculum and loves her teachers. Highly recommend Harwell school.
Steven StrattonFeb 2, 2026We had a deeply troubling experience with Harwell Preschool in Oregon City that ultimately led us to remove our daughter from the program. While attending this preschool, our daughter was assaulted by another child in the restroom. A boy should never have been in the bathroom with her in the first place, let alone allowed to hit her. The most alarming part is that staff never reported this incident to us. This is something that should have been addressed and communicated to parents immediately, and it was not. Prior to this incident, there were already ongoing concerns about lack of honest communication and integrity. On multiple occasions, our child was unclothed and redressed at school. While we understand this may sometimes be necessary with young children, parent notification should have been a priority, and it repeatedly was not. Additionally, updates provided through the school’s app (such as meal completion and daily activities) were often inaccurate. We would arrive to pick up our child and find that the information reported did not reflect reality, which further eroded our trust. After the restroom incident, we made the decision to withdraw our daughter for her safety. Despite this, the school continued to bill us as if she were still attending, placing the responsibility on us to notify them—while they themselves failed to notify us of a serious safety incident that directly caused her withdrawal. Trust, transparency, and child safety are non-negotiable for parents. Unfortunately, those standards were not met here.
Tc WarnekeFeb 2, 2026I would like to express my most sincere gratitude to the teachers of Harwell School for the support and care they provided to my daughter Luna during her stay. At first, my daughter was very shy and had difficulty adapting, but thanks to the dedication and patience of the teachers, she was able to develop new skills and confidence. During difficult times that we faced as a family, the team at Harwell School proved to be an invaluable support. The application they use to keep us informed about the progress and daily activities of our children was very useful and allowed us to be calm knowing that my daughter was in good hands. We are deeply grateful for the help and care that you provided. Your professionalism and dedication are truly admirable. I highly recommend you to any family looking for a safe and stimulating place for their children.
Diana FranciscoSep 5, 2025My child has been attending Harwell school since she was about 7 months old. She loves it there. The teachers have helped her grow and hit her milestones in ways that would be hard for me to do on my own. The staff are all professional but fun and the atmosphere is loving and kind. Ms. Izzy and Mr. Kota are my daughters favorite teachers, probably closely followed by Ms. Jenny. They always make her feel welcomed and loved, and she is always happy to see them, even when she is a grumpy goose.
