  • I cannot in good faith recommend this center to anyone that cares for their child’s safety and wellbeing. I saw first hand this morning when I was dropping my son off, the center was basically empty because it was only wobblers/infants/primary and the infants and wobblers were outside. I witnessed the primary teacher who didn’t know I was in the building, yelling at a boy (a blonde boy I’m trying to find his parents to let him know and hopefully will soon) to the point he was crying on the floor and she was yelling at him absolutely insane. If I ever saw someone speak to my child like that there would be an immediate issue. If you wouldn’t do it in front of the child’s parent, it’s emotional/verbal abuse and you shouldn’t be doing it at all. I walked over and shamed her out loud and asked if she always speaks to the children this way, she did not seem remorseful and told me to “take it up with the director” with a smirk, which was clear she felt pretty confident the director wouldn’t do anything about it. Which I’m not surprised because the director doesn’t seem to care too much about these type of complaints but instead jumps straight into explaining why she can’t fire a teacher who’s worked there for 10 years who’s going through a hard time at home. I’ve worked in childcare for 9 years myself and never once have I taken my anger or stress out on children. Who are helpless and defenseless. The infant teachers are amazing, so if you really need somewhere for just infants and for whatever reason you can’t go somewhere else I can recommend that. Theres plenty of other daycares nearby though that also take ERDC that I would recommend over this one. There’s a couple of patient, professional respectful teachers beyond the infants classroom but the teachers that are emotionally dis-regulated and emotionally/verbally volatile to the children outweigh the good of those teachers. There’s also been complaints of teachers not properly watching children when they’re outside to the point multiple parents have complained they’re concerned for their safety. And unfortunately it’s an environment where teachers said they don’t feel comfortable reporting when they see emotional/verbal abuse because they don’t want to lose their jobs and/or feel nothing will be done due to favoritism. There’s an uncomfortable feeling between teachers where you can tell some just out their heads down and go to work but don’t like working there. Some of the newer teachers seem more optimistic and kind which I guess is hopeful. While the director says the teachers receive 16 hours of training for Montessori a year, it is not implemented in the center especially in the words used and how they communicate with the kids. The language and concept of Montessori does not exist in the communication style at all. After talking to some teachers it’s my understanding they don’t feel they have the materials, guidance and support needed to be consistent or Montessori on a daily basis. But the director thinks it’s the teachers fault because they should be implementing what they’ve learned. So nothing is being done because fingers are being pointed at each other instead of actually prioritizing the kids, which ultimately should be the director and owner getting it in order by explaining what changes need to be made to the teachers, giving them the materials needed to make those changes and then having consequence if they don’t. It’s a very high stress and deregulating environment for the kids because of these dis regulations and staff issues between each other and with the children, and as my son has gone from the infant classroom to now toddler you can see in his behaviors that he’s bringing home some negative ones. Safety especially emotional safety, is my main concern and I don’t see children being protected here even valid concerns are being raised.

  • I really appreciate the caring environment, and I am very grateful for everything Mayflower has done for my child. It truly breaks my heart that we have to move. We will greatly miss this school and the amazing teachers. Thank you all for your support, love, patience, and dedication. The positive impact you have had on my child and our family means so much to us, and we will always be grateful. I highly recommend this school to other families. It is a wonderful place where children are loved, supported, and encouraged to learn and grow. Our experience has been truly positive, and we are thankful to have been part of the Mayflower

  • My son has attended Mayflower since he was about 4 months old and he loves it there. The teachers treat him really well and he gets plenty of social time and activity. He can't wait to ditch us and go play when we drop him off. Everyone is friendly and the rates are reasonable. We looked at about half a dozen other places and Mayflower was our top choice.

  • Helpful, kind, well put together, and kiddo loves it. Teachers are enthusiastic and kind. Child has come home more confident with alot more knowledge and proud of herself. She had left a school where she was bullied and mistreated and it was starting to show in her personality. She has been here for a few months and has had a complete turn around. As a parent I'm not afraid to ask all questions needed and can trust their answers.

  • I've been extremely happy having my 18 mo. son go here for almost a year now. The staff is wonderful! Everyone is always professional, it's very organized and scheduled. We know the food being served to what the emergency plan is if needed. Even with a director switch about 4 months after we started, it was such a smooth transition it put my mind at ease. I am thrilled about the new director Alicia. She always greets me and makes it so inviting and comfortable to walk in there. They work with my schedule too. Another important note for me is that I absolutely love the fact that Alicia personally checked in with me to ensure all my emergency contacts, doctors, etc. were current. I needed to update and never would have thought of it. Shows me she truly cares! Needless to say, my son is a happy one, always smiling when I pick him up and, always wanting to play more! I'm so grateful for Mayflower Montessori! Thank you all!

  • Our son started at Mayflower a few months ago when he was 3 months old and has been doing really well. He loves his teachers and always has a big smile for everyone when I drop him off. I was anxious to start him at daycare, but Mayflower has been great for him and I feel good knowing he’s being taken care of while I’m at work. He definitely gets more stimulation than when I was on parental leave (which is great!) and I know he loves hanging around other adults and kids.
