  • We have had such a wonderful experience at Chelten and are sending our 3rd child there! Kind staff, play based curriculum, developmentally appropriate all around.

  • Great daycare and preschool! Both of my kids go here and have been since 2023. All of the teachers and staff are amazing. I feel so thankful to have a safe place to drop my kids off every day. I highly recommend!

  • Our kids attended CCDC for a few years, and prior to that attended a handful of other good day cares. This place was by far the best. The people there care so much about the kids, and are truly special people for how welcoming and inclusive they are. Will forever be grateful to them for everything they have done for our kids.

  • Prior to enrolling at Chelten, our daughters had attended five different daycares that, for one reason or another, never quite fit. Once we found CCDC, we also found a sense of stability as previous issues with teacher quality, turnover and management were never a concern. Even at the height of the pandemic, the staff at CCDC went above and beyond to do whatever possible to share the burden and help our community find balance. Whatever was happening in the world around them, our children always had a welcoming, supportive environment each morning to help them explore, learn and grow. The staff made an incredible effort to learn every student’s unique needs and serve as their advocate. While our family was fortunate enough not to require assistance, it was amazing to me to hear how much thought CCDC had put into how to ensure our daughter could secure the IEP and therapies she required. It’s incredibly daunting pursuing support from the MCIU. We likely would not have been as successful without the advocacy of CCDC and their incredible relationships with public and private service providers. From daycare through Camp Jubilee, CCDC laid the foundation for our girls’ development and will always be a major part of our girls’ lives even as they’ve aged out.

  • Our family has had children consistently at CCDC for over 10yrs. The staff treats your children like family in a fun loving and very safe environment. The curriculums are well rounded and engaging, offering really cool opportunities for our children over the years. The way the leadership managed the protocols and shifts during the pandemic made us feel that they had every child’s best interest at the forefront. The support offered for children with special needs such as an IEP also is above 5 stars. Additionally, our children were all well prepared for Kindergarten. If you are looking for a daycare home you won’t be disappointed.

  • The director is very unprofessional and cold hearted! Stay away from their. I know she doesn’t care for kids of color!

Questions parents ask about CHELTEN CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER

Is CHELTEN CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER a licensed child care provider in Pennsylvania?

Yes. CHELTEN CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER holds Pennsylvania certificate 100127192-0001, listed as "LICENSED" by the Office of Child Development and Early Learning in Montgomery County. The current certificate runs to June 30, 2027. Confirm current standing at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch before enrolling.

What is CHELTEN CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER's Keystone STARS rating?

Pennsylvania rates CHELTEN CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER STAR 4, on a scale of one to four where four is highest. That tier took effect on August 15, 2025. Keystone STARS measures programme standards such as staff qualifications and learning environment, not inspection outcomes.

Does Pennsylvania record a negative sanction against CHELTEN CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER?

No. The state's provider dataset records no negative sanction against CHELTEN CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER at the time the record was published. That is a single field in a snapshot, not a full compliance history, and it is not the same as a clean inspection record. The licensing inspection detail is at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch.

Does CHELTEN CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER accept child care subsidy?

Yes. CHELTEN CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER holds a subsidy agreement with the state. The agreement covers these age groups: Infant and toddler, Preschool. An agreement means the provider can bill the subsidy programme, not that a funded place is free today. Eligibility is decided by your Early Learning Resource Center, Early Learning Resource Center for Region 17.

Does this page show inspection results for CHELTEN CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER?

No. Pennsylvania completes at least one unannounced inspection a year at every licensed provider, and publishes the results through the provider search at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch. Those results are not included here, and there is no open dataset of them, so nothing on this page reflects CHELTEN CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER's inspection history either way. Look the provider up there and read the licensing inspection record.
