  • I rarely write reviews, but I feel it's important to share my experience with this before and after care center. Unfortunately, it has been nothing short of frustrating and disappointing. One month was enough with my children enrolled with this care center. Miss stephanie(office staff) never reported when daycare staff was “squeezing” my daughters wrist hard that she began to cry. But had no problem to complain that my kids were “troubled” eye rolling and disrespect. My mother and I complained to the director of multiple occurrences and his response was “it’s starts at home”! And not trying to advocate for my children. When my children are in the wrong I will correct it and discipline my kids. But I always listen to my children 100% when staff is rolling there eyes at my kids or disrespecting them. It goes both ways! Especially when staff puts their hands on kids that’s out of line. My children are innocent and as their mother I will protect them everytime. The director does nothing to advocate for your kids or look into it. The director or miss Stephanie don’t know me or my family at all but had a lot of judgment mental comments when approaching them about how my children were treated by their staff. What’s even more embarrassing for them they only had to watch my kids for 45 mins. Before getting on the bus for school. Because I had my mother pick my kids up from the bus afterschool . I was told my kids couldn’t be watched on the days their school had act 80 days or closed due to my kids needed one on one care short on staff. For some reason my kids was targeted. GOD PREVAILS! I regret enrolling my children here and have since found a much better program elsewhere. If you're looking for a safe, nurturing, and well-run environment, I suggest continuing your search.

  • I’ve never had any bad experiences here. The women in the infant room are great! They take such good care of the babies. Ms. Steph (office staff) is always so friendly and accommodating. I recommend this place to all my friends looking for local childcare.

  • I recently enrolled my child at this daycare, but within just a week, we witnessed deeply concerning and unacceptable behavior. One of the teachers was screaming, red-faced, at a 3-year-old child who was sobbing uncontrollably. There was another teacher in the room who stood by silently and did nothing to intervene or address the situation. This lack of professionalism and disregard for the emotional well-being of young children is horrifying and unacceptable. We never raise our voices to children, especially at such a young and impressionable age. Concerned for the safety of all children involved, I called the office and spoke to the secretary. I attempted to contact the director twice, leaving two separate messages to report what I consider a serious case of child abuse. We also asked if they planned to inform the parents of the child who was targeted, as well as the parents of the other children who were present and witnessed this incident. Shockingly, they never returned my calls. Due to these safety concerns and the complete lack of response, I immediately unenrolled my child and reported the situation to the state. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this daycare to anyone. The safety and emotional well-being of children should be the top priority at any childcare center, and this facility failed to meet that standard. I additionally informed the Hermitage Police Department of the present circumstances surrounding child abuse and lack of action taken by the center.

  • My children attend this center. They absolutely love going here! They get up excited everyday! The office staff is wonderful! Miss Steph, Miss Sunny, Miss Gayle and Mr. Robert are just the best! Always so friendly and upbeat!

  • Our child attended only a full days before we removed them. Staff screamed at another child and the Director did not return the call left the day prior until afternoon the following day. He was very angry state had been notified of the event. He made certain this caller was scolded for doing so even though this caller is a mandated reporter. @keystonestars. Is this the behavior condoned for the stars program?

  • Sweet and kind teachers, horrible management and not enough supervision. This used to be a facility for special needs children and is now more of a public school setting which is not what it was supposed to be. Without proper supervision, No security or cameras, the adults get away with anything and is shows in our children. Director has no patience like they should and is discriminative against kids who need extra help. Unless your child is absolutely gifted and is more of an adult than child, do not enroll them into the Children’s center of Mercer County.

Does Pennsylvania record a negative sanction against Childrens Center of Mercer County?

No. The state's provider dataset records no negative sanction against Childrens Center of Mercer County at the time the record was published. Does Childrens Center of Mercer County accept child care subsidy?

Yes. Childrens Center of Mercer County holds a subsidy agreement with the state. The agreement covers these age groups: Infant and toddler, Preschool, School-age. An agreement means the provider can bill the subsidy programme, not that a funded place is free today. Does this page show inspection results for Childrens Center of Mercer County?

No. Pennsylvania completes at least one unannounced inspection a year at every licensed provider, and publishes the results through the provider search at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch. Those results are not included here, and there is no open dataset of them, so nothing on this page reflects Childrens Center of Mercer County's inspection history either way. Look the provider up there and read the licensing inspection record.
