Michael SforzaJan 15, 2020A most outstanding event takes place here on two consecutive weekends surrounding January 6th. It is a spectacle that brings meaning to so many Christmas traditions. The Twelfth Night Celebration is a forgotten pageant that was once part of a feast of Noblemen. Well, if you ever wondered about the 12 days of Christmas... the 12th day is January 6th. So this was the feast of the twelfth night. Here, Beefeaters greet you at the door. Jugglers and jesters entertain you as you wait for the pageant to begin. Then outstanding choral and orchestral music begins. Bagpipers enter and thunder through the beautiful architecture of this church building. The pipe organ takes over while you begin to see dancers, the Boars Head, St. Lucia with real candles on her head, Joan of Arc and her fully armored night, the swan, the peacock, St. Nicholaus, the Holy Family, the Shepherds, the Magi, Good King Wenceslas, and so much more. 4 shows on both weekends play to a sold out crowd. You must call the church and order your tickets by October. It is a one of a kind event bringing meaning to so many things you sing about at christmas, but may never have understood.
