When you go on to the website to look at the lowest reviews be mindful that many times these are individual experiences I can tell you that both my children have attended school here and are in the Head start program and it's absolutely wonderful Hannah the new director has been nothing but understanding and helpful and if your kiddos are sick guaranteed you will get a call to pick them up so there are no sick children at the school and they do their best to clean very happy with the services that I've received at this daycare would recommend them to anyone
Sarah WarihayFeb 17, 2026They abused me in 2008, my parents pulled me out of that hell hole after 3 days. If they are still doing this type of stuff now, then yall need to be shut down. Even elmo wouldnt stay in a place like this since they used it as advertisement at one point.
dat MonkeyJan 15, 2026This daycare does have some positives — they provide meals, offer outdoor playtime, and have a few wonderful staff members like Ms. Malai (Thai) and Ms. Hannah (Chinese), who clearly care about the children. However, there are ongoing concerns with cleanliness, and my son was often sick while attending. There’s also a lot of staff turnover, which makes it hard for the kids to have stability and consistency. While there are caring individuals here, improvements in hygiene and staffing would make a big difference. Unfortunately, I had to take my son out due to the lack of improvement.
Saria LAug 14, 2025Highly recommended to any parent looking for a reliable and loving place for their little one. It truly feels like a second home for my child! From the moment we walked in, I felt reassured that my child would be in a safe, nurturing, and fun environment. The staff is incredibly warm and attentive, treating each child with kindness and patience.
Jessie VelascoFeb 27, 2025We absolutely love this daycare! The staff is kind, patient, and truly cares about the kids. The facility is clean and safe. Highly recommend!
Chi ChiFeb 25, 2025My son attended this daycare for 9months. We wish we had never sent him. I witnessed a teacher drag him across the classroom by his arm and pulled him from school immediately. It was the final straw in a long line of issues. Don't ask me if they made changes in personnel or policy at that point - they never followed up with me. Never called once, never emailed. They signed him out of the daycare communication app that day and I got the tax statement in the mail at the end of the year. That's it. I filed a report with PA DHS the day I witnessed the incident, which verified harsh treatment and showed teachers screaming at children. Look up their daycare inspection reports on PA Compass ChildCare Provider Search. This was not an isolated incident. A teacher was caught doing the same thing a month after we had left. Furthermore, a handful of these reviews are from current/former teachers.

Questions parents ask about DOWNINGTOWN ACADEMY LEARNING CENTER
Is DOWNINGTOWN ACADEMY LEARNING CENTER a licensed child care provider in Pennsylvania?
- Yes. DOWNINGTOWN ACADEMY LEARNING CENTER holds Pennsylvania certificate 102791776-0001, listed as "LICENSED" by the Office of Child Development and Early Learning in Chester County. The current certificate runs to April 2, 2027. Confirm current standing at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch before enrolling.
What is DOWNINGTOWN ACADEMY LEARNING CENTER's Keystone STARS rating?
- Pennsylvania rates DOWNINGTOWN ACADEMY LEARNING CENTER STAR 2, on a scale of one to four where four is highest. That tier took effect on February 16, 2026. Keystone STARS measures programme standards such as staff qualifications and learning environment, not inspection outcomes.
Does Pennsylvania record a negative sanction against DOWNINGTOWN ACADEMY LEARNING CENTER?
- No. The state's provider dataset records no negative sanction against DOWNINGTOWN ACADEMY LEARNING CENTER at the time the record was published. That is a single field in a snapshot, not a full compliance history, and it is not the same as a clean inspection record. The licensing inspection detail is at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch.
Does DOWNINGTOWN ACADEMY LEARNING CENTER accept child care subsidy?
- Yes. DOWNINGTOWN ACADEMY LEARNING CENTER holds a subsidy agreement with the state. The agreement covers these age groups: Infant and toddler, Preschool, School-age. An agreement means the provider can bill the subsidy programme, not that a funded place is free today. Eligibility is decided by your Early Learning Resource Center, Early Learning Resource Center for Region 19.
Does this page show inspection results for DOWNINGTOWN ACADEMY LEARNING CENTER?
- No. Pennsylvania completes at least one unannounced inspection a year at every licensed provider, and publishes the results through the provider search at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch. Those results are not included here, and there is no open dataset of them, so nothing on this page reflects DOWNINGTOWN ACADEMY LEARNING CENTER's inspection history either way. Look the provider up there and read the licensing inspection record.
