  • I wish I could give ten stars! Early Edge gets an A+++ My wife and I began fostering a two and three year old in October of 2024. We needed a place for our 3 year old in a hurry, which is almost impossible to find after the school year has started. We wanted an educational experience, not just a babysitter while we are both at work. A friend recommended Early Edge, we met with Mrs. Suppo, and my wife whom is a teacher with 20 years service, was very impressed. We have never had a single regret, they helped us to work through a very difficult transition with our boys, which we were so so so very blessed to adopt them both in August of 2025. Our now four year old son is on his second year at Early Edge, ADHD diagnosed and very impulsive, but is absolutely thriving AGAIN this year. You have gone above and beyond, great job Mrs S, Mrs B, Mrs D, Mrs K and everyone else. I'm sure this kid will be giving a speech at his high school graduation, and I bet he remembers to mention all of you and the wonderful start you gave him. He will be sticking around another year for full day kindergarten at Early Edge, so prepare yourselves!!!! Our now three year old is on his first year and he should be the poster child for Early Edge. When he came to us at 2 1/2, he was non verbal, barely able to stand on his own, a preemie that had a very very delayed start. My amazing wife and I worked day and night with him, every part of our day with him was building strength and learning. It was so hard for us to see the progression working with him every day. This year, Mrs H, Mrs G, and everyone else, my heart goes out to you with the absolute LOVE that you have shown our son. You have gone the extra mile. His words are flowing, he is running, he is social, he is communicating better every day, he is LEARNING like crazy. We couldn't be more happy and neither could he! If anyone wants to reach out to me personally, please feel free, you can easily find my email by googling my company name. Thank you ALL so much!

  • We absolutely loved our experience at Early Edge! This was my daughter’s first time in a school setting, and the transition couldn’t have gone better. The teachers were beyond amazing,so kind, nurturing, and truly attentive to each child. My daughter was a bit shy at first, but with their support and encouragement, she really came out of her shell. The curriculum was fantastic, very well-rounded and thoughtfully designed, with a great balance of structure and learning through play. It not only prepared her for kindergarten but honestly gave her a strong foundation for first grade as well. She loved going to school every day and looked forward to all the fun and educational activities. I’m so grateful to the Early Edge team for creating such a warm and inspiring environment. Highly recommend!

  • Early Edge is an excellent preschool! Our child began attending in 2020 and is thriving in 2nd grade. The teachers provide a structured and supportive environment in which learning is fun! When our child transitioned to Kindergarten, they were so prepared, and that preparation has set them up for continued success in subsequent grades. I can't say enough about how much I appreciate Mrs. Knox and Mrs. Suppo. They want to see your child succeed, recognize that all children have different needs, and set expectations for behavior. They provide you with real feedback about how to help your child succeed (this wanes in public school). Beyond that, they are great humans. I'm appreciative of our time with them and highly recommend Early Edge.

  • From our personal experience, Early Edge was an absolute game changer for our daughter and our family. That's what you become with Early Edge, family. Mrs. Suppo, Mrs. Knox, they go above and beyond for the children in their care. They are invested personally and professionally to ensure the children are growing in all aspects of their development. I'm so glad to have found this childcare center and would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone looking for high quality care. My daughter is now in 2nd grade at Pine Richland and is thriving both socially and academically. I owe it to the exceptional care at Early Edge!

  • We have had three children happily attend Early Edge Preschool so far, and are looking forward to sending our fourth child as well! It’s not everywhere that you find the owners of the business teaching the classes themselves, but that just shows how passionate and dedicated they truly are! They sincerely care about your children, and you, and quickly become more than early educators — they feel like family. This is not the closest option for us, but the drive is worth what you get in return — children you know are loved and cared for and so well-prepared academically and socially to thrive in elementary school! Our daughter made best friends at Early Edge five years ago, has never had an elementary school class with them, and is still best friends with them today! — thanks to this preschool’s positive, loving environment that fosters friendships and attracts and retains wonderful families. One of our sons qualified for Early Intervention services (speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy), and the staff at Early Edge not only welcomed additional support personnel into the classroom, they partnered with them, providing insight and feedback, and implemented the specialists’ recommendations, all to help deliver the best outcomes for our son. Regarding birthdays and holidays, they never miss a beat! And they go above and beyond, filling their fantastic playroom with 100 balloons on the 100th day of school, having “the leprechaun” ransack the classroom making it almost unrecognizable when the kiddos enter school in the morning, inviting fathers and grandfathers to build a special construction project at Donuts with Dads, honoring mothers and grandmothers with a heartwarming Mothers’ Tea event that always makes me cry joyful tears, and a momentous graduation celebration complete with little caps & gowns and a truly impressive performance by the class up on stage. We enthusiastically recommend this special preschool — and are so proud to be a part of the Early Edge family! Natalie Yates Mom of four Pine-Richland School District

  • The name of this pre-school says it all: Early Edge. The curriculum does indeed give young children an early edge to scholastic success. Two of my grandchildren have attended this pre-school and are experiencing academic success in second grade and kindergarten. Their brother is currently enrolled and loves to learn and play at Early Edge every day! The teachers and support staff at Early Edge are very caring professionals. It is clear that teaching at Early Edge is not just a job to them, but rather a calling, a desire to positively influence young children and set them on a path to being lifelong learners. The welcome mat at the entrance to Early Edge sums it up: Little People, Big Dreams and Bright Futures! Esther DiPasquale, Grandma of the Yates kids

Questions parents ask about EARLY EDGE PRESCHOOL

Is EARLY EDGE PRESCHOOL a licensed child care provider in Pennsylvania?

Yes. EARLY EDGE PRESCHOOL holds Pennsylvania certificate 103716720-0001, listed as "LICENSED" by the Office of Child Development and Early Learning in Allegheny County. The current certificate runs to July 2, 2027. Confirm current standing at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch before enrolling.

What is EARLY EDGE PRESCHOOL's Keystone STARS rating?

Pennsylvania rates EARLY EDGE PRESCHOOL STAR 1, on a scale of one to four where four is highest. That tier took effect on September 4, 2020. Keystone STARS measures programme standards such as staff qualifications and learning environment, not inspection outcomes.

Does Pennsylvania record a negative sanction against EARLY EDGE PRESCHOOL?

No. The state's provider dataset records no negative sanction against EARLY EDGE PRESCHOOL at the time the record was published. That is a single field in a snapshot, not a full compliance history, and it is not the same as a clean inspection record. The licensing inspection detail is at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch.

Does EARLY EDGE PRESCHOOL accept child care subsidy?

Yes. EARLY EDGE PRESCHOOL holds a subsidy agreement with the state. An agreement means the provider can bill the subsidy programme, not that a funded place is free today. Eligibility is decided by your Early Learning Resource Center, Early Learning Resource Center for Region 5.

Does this page show inspection results for EARLY EDGE PRESCHOOL?

No. Pennsylvania completes at least one unannounced inspection a year at every licensed provider, and publishes the results through the provider search at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch. Those results are not included here, and there is no open dataset of them, so nothing on this page reflects EARLY EDGE PRESCHOOL's inspection history either way. Look the provider up there and read the licensing inspection record.
