After considerable time and reflection, I feel compelled to share my experience with this daycare. My child attended for about a year, and I deliberately waited before writing this to avoid being dismissed as a reactive or “bitter” parent. If anything, time has only clarified how concerning our experience truly was. Given that the owner is a former elementary educator, I expected a program grounded in basic principles of early childhood development. That expectation was not met. The “educational” component was minimal at best and inconsistent at worst, lacking both structure and intentionality. What was most alarming, however, was the constant turnover in the preschool classroom. During our time there, there were no fewer than three different “teachers”—and I use that term loosely. None demonstrated the level of training, consistency, or skill one would expect in a setting responsible for early learning. The absence of certified or adequately prepared staff was evident. This became especially problematic when children required additional support. Rather than meeting children where they were developmentally, the approach felt more like quiet discouragement. It was made increasingly clear—subtly but persistently—that this facility was “not the right fit” for my child. Instead of support, there was pressure. Instead of collaboration, there was deflection. After transferring to a new facility, my child’s so-called “issues” resolved entirely. In a setting with experienced educators and appropriate developmental support, my child is now thriving. That contrast is difficult to ignore. Looking back, I regret how long I trusted this environment. What I initially interpreted as growing pains now reads as a lack of capability and leadership. I would strongly encourage other parents to look closely at staff qualifications, turnover, and how children with varying needs are supported—because those details matter far more than the image a program presents.

Is FIRST IMPRESSIONS ECDC a licensed child care provider in Pennsylvania?
- Yes. FIRST IMPRESSIONS ECDC holds Pennsylvania certificate 101840043-0002, listed as "LICENSED" by the Office of Child Development and Early Learning in Blair County. The current certificate runs to May 1, 2027. Confirm current standing at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch before enrolling.
What is FIRST IMPRESSIONS ECDC's Keystone STARS rating?
- Pennsylvania rates FIRST IMPRESSIONS ECDC STAR 4, on a scale of one to four where four is highest. That tier took effect on November 21, 2025. Keystone STARS measures programme standards such as staff qualifications and learning environment, not inspection outcomes.
Does Pennsylvania record a negative sanction against FIRST IMPRESSIONS ECDC?
- No. The state's provider dataset records no negative sanction against FIRST IMPRESSIONS ECDC at the time the record was published. That is a single field in a snapshot, not a full compliance history, and it is not the same as a clean inspection record. The licensing inspection detail is at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch.
Does FIRST IMPRESSIONS ECDC accept child care subsidy?
- Yes. FIRST IMPRESSIONS ECDC holds a subsidy agreement with the state. The agreement covers these age groups: Infant and toddler, Preschool. An agreement means the provider can bill the subsidy programme, not that a funded place is free today. Eligibility is decided by your Early Learning Resource Center, Early Learning Resource Center for Region 6.
Does this page show inspection results for FIRST IMPRESSIONS ECDC?
- No. Pennsylvania completes at least one unannounced inspection a year at every licensed provider, and publishes the results through the provider search at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch. Those results are not included here, and there is no open dataset of them, so nothing on this page reflects FIRST IMPRESSIONS ECDC's inspection history either way. Look the provider up there and read the licensing inspection record.
