Great staff! Carmen, Dave, Joe, Megan and Patty make starting the day at the Kennett Y something to look forward to.
Jeffrey MJul 6, 2026Absolutely love the Kennett Square YMCA! It is not just a place to work out and get healthy… It’s a welcoming supportive community!
Sandra MorrisMay 12, 2026I highly recommend this great campus size facility at Kennett YMCA. It is so large without even going upstairs. It is full of helpful knowledge great staff. There are great options for swimming pools and equipment and has very sizable pools warm and cold. Plenty of lap lanes. Nice weight room and ball gyms. It is great to be here. Locker rooms and showers are accomadating which have weighing scales and includes a swim suit extractor and nice showers. Available with snack and drink machines and I believe coffee and sinks.
ClarkMar 11, 2026I love the pickleball program at the Kennett Y which has enabled me to be physically active and introduced me to many new friends and social opportunities. I also learned to play mahjong at the Y, and now play regularly with a group of new friends. In addition, the EGYM machines are easy to use and have helped me to gain muscle. The Y staff are always very helpful and friendly, and it’s a pleasure to spend time there.
Vicki CapolarelloMar 3, 2026The YMCA has been a great place for my daughter to get exposure to kids of different ages and backgrounds, while also getting to try new activities and get energy out. We love it!
Lindsay SnowJan 30, 2026Been a member for a while, but I finally pulled a plug. I’ve been paying over $100 for group membership. I’ve noticed that they close their facility quite often. Every month there’s something. Either some holiday related or some organization related. This month they have closed their facility for practically the whole month due to some renovation. I asked if I can get a refund, but not a single response. I basically paid for the whole month and wasn’t even able to work out. They kept telling me the facility is open and they have classes etc. but what good is the facility being open if my main usage there is using their workout gears? That’s the reason I go there? I should’ve have cancelled the membership long time ago, but I’m giving this facility 1 star because this whole month I feel like I got ripped off. I paid for the services that I did not get.

Questions parents ask about KENNETT YMCA
Is KENNETT YMCA a licensed child care provider in Pennsylvania?
- Yes. KENNETT YMCA holds Pennsylvania certificate 100125939-0053, listed as "LICENSED" by the Office of Child Development and Early Learning in Chester County. The current certificate runs to June 27, 2027. Confirm current standing at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch before enrolling.
What is KENNETT YMCA's Keystone STARS rating?
- Pennsylvania rates KENNETT YMCA STAR 4, on a scale of one to four where four is highest. That tier took effect on May 21, 2026. Keystone STARS measures programme standards such as staff qualifications and learning environment, not inspection outcomes.
Does Pennsylvania record a negative sanction against KENNETT YMCA?
- No. The state's provider dataset records no negative sanction against KENNETT YMCA at the time the record was published. That is a single field in a snapshot, not a full compliance history, and it is not the same as a clean inspection record. The licensing inspection detail is at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch.
Does KENNETT YMCA accept child care subsidy?
- Yes. KENNETT YMCA holds a subsidy agreement with the state. The agreement covers these age groups: Infant and toddler, Preschool. An agreement means the provider can bill the subsidy programme, not that a funded place is free today. Eligibility is decided by your Early Learning Resource Center, Early Learning Resource Center for Region 19.
Does this page show inspection results for KENNETT YMCA?
- No. Pennsylvania completes at least one unannounced inspection a year at every licensed provider, and publishes the results through the provider search at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch. Those results are not included here, and there is no open dataset of them, so nothing on this page reflects KENNETT YMCA's inspection history either way. Look the provider up there and read the licensing inspection record.
