  • My husband and I participate in a senior ukulele group at the Center every Thursday morning from 10:00 to 11:30. Afterwards we are fed lunch. The ukulele group is wonderful and fun. Tina, who runs the Senior Center, is fabulous.

  • Lancaster rec gives children who don't have the means to go to a paid pool to be able to enjoy this summer by opening up the wading pools, and you have people out there that are so disrespectful enough to vandalize and trash these pools.,.. Install cameras at the pools, prosecute anybody you catch vandalizing... People need to start accepting accountability for the stuff that they do...

  • Sporting events are the only thing they are good for now. Child care has become extremely expensive. If they offered quality child care I might understand but it's subpar and ghetto.

  • This review is mainly for the rental halls at this facility. We decorate this place often. There are a few rooms you can rent for events. There is a good amount of space, tables, and chairs inside, the staff is friendly, and there's a lot of parking. Overall, it's a great place to rent for an event. There are also a lot of other things to do here such as childcare programs, activities, and a playground.

  • We come here for the dance program. It's affordable compared to all the other studios. 9 years strong! Years ago my boys attended the daycare also, never had issues.

Questions parents ask about LANCASTER RECREATION COMMISSION

Is LANCASTER RECREATION COMMISSION a licensed child care provider in Pennsylvania?

Yes. LANCASTER RECREATION COMMISSION holds Pennsylvania certificate 100125779-0005, listed as "LICENSED" by the Office of Child Development and Early Learning in Lancaster County. The current certificate runs to January 17, 2027. Confirm current standing at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch before enrolling.

What is LANCASTER RECREATION COMMISSION's Keystone STARS rating?

Pennsylvania rates LANCASTER RECREATION COMMISSION STAR 4, on a scale of one to four where four is highest. That tier took effect on October 31, 2025. Keystone STARS measures programme standards such as staff qualifications and learning environment, not inspection outcomes.

Does Pennsylvania record a negative sanction against LANCASTER RECREATION COMMISSION?

No. The state's provider dataset records no negative sanction against LANCASTER RECREATION COMMISSION at the time the record was published. That is a single field in a snapshot, not a full compliance history, and it is not the same as a clean inspection record. The licensing inspection detail is at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch.

Does LANCASTER RECREATION COMMISSION accept child care subsidy?

Yes. LANCASTER RECREATION COMMISSION holds a subsidy agreement with the state. The agreement covers these age groups: Preschool, School-age. An agreement means the provider can bill the subsidy programme, not that a funded place is free today. Eligibility is decided by your Early Learning Resource Center, Early Learning Resource Center for Region 10.

Does this page show inspection results for LANCASTER RECREATION COMMISSION?

No. Pennsylvania completes at least one unannounced inspection a year at every licensed provider, and publishes the results through the provider search at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch. Those results are not included here, and there is no open dataset of them, so nothing on this page reflects LANCASTER RECREATION COMMISSION's inspection history either way. Look the provider up there and read the licensing inspection record.
