  • My review keeps getting deleted. I was so excited for my 2 year olds daughters first day of daycare. Amy, the director was super nice and kept reassuring me it was a great place and I can call with any questions and stop in any time I want to, to check on my daughter. Her first day came and I waited in my car.. and then went inside to check on her about a half an hour later and I saw my daughter sitting on the floor by herself crying! With no adult trying to console her or even see what was going on. Of course it’s her first day and she will cry, but I’d expect someone to at the very least come over and speak to her. Once they saw I was there they ran over to my daughter and tried to console her.. which obviously shows these people will only act the way they should when someone’s watching them. Disturbing. The day after I called the director to ask her what her policy was on comforting a crying child.. to my shock, she was extremely rude. Which was very different from my initial experience. She was getting very aggravated over simple questions that I’d assume any parent would ask. “I can already tell this is gonna be a problem, you can take her out” .. ridiculous. The conversation ended with me agreeing to give it one more try the following day. After long thought and reading some very scary reviews online about the daycare I decided to not bring her back. When I stopped in to gather my daughters items again the Director was rude and showed zero empathy or care. Did not ask me why I wasn’t going to continue with their program or what the real issue was. Just handed my things to me and said see ya. Also seeing all the adults in the room with my daughter careless place their iced coffees and hot coffees in areas the children could absolutely reach. Hearing the condescending way they’d speak to the children and extremely unprofessional in every aspect. Telling a child to “chillout”.. and then of course I paid for three days and couldn’t get my money back when my child only attended one day. I guess they don’t care about your needs as long as they got paid. Very disappointing experience. Poor communication and extremely unprofessional behavior on every employee present. If the owner can be so arrogant and unprofessional, u can only imagine how the staff treats the children when no ones watching.

  • So far we love learn and grow! These people haven't been in business this long to not know how to handle children of all kinds. Our son was born 2 months premature and I have complete trust in the infant room staff. They know his milestones are not on track with his actual age and it's been a great experience for us. We love it's screen free and they have a curriculum the whole school follows. Even the infants are involved and are encouraged to participate. I'm so surprised by negative reviews so I'm going to address somethings I've seen honestly. Some of the negative reviews sound like parents who don't understand how a daycare works. Some say no communication?? They called my because my son had bad gas and they wanted to know if it was normal or not, and called to check up on my son after he was sent home sick. They tell us about his day and I can call at anytime for an update on him. If you want a more individualized style of care with video and pictures all day this isn't the place. I see comments about the staff and owners. The staff we've had our son with is wonderful I wish we could keep them forever. If you're a responsible adult the secretary and owners are no issue. The staff speak matter of fact about things and I can see where people could see that as rude and if it's about something a new parent is insecure about I can see getting offended. I however don't think the feelings of a parent are more important than anything to do with the children the staff serves. Only real complaint we have is around the holidays the checks were not get deposited right away and you had to wait for your recipe. Which it being around the holidays I completely understood how it happened. The handbook is a little outdated and some days off are missing, however they post around the school anything parents need to be made aware of so it's not something I mind too much honestly.

  • I recently just moved here and visited other daycares but nothing like this one . The staff is amazing my kids love it there and are always happy to be there . Drop off and pick ups are so smooth . The Director is so ever wonderful and definitely made me and my kids feel welcomed . I would HIGHLY recommend this daycare .

  • I am actually shocked by the negative reviews. Because my experience is very different. My son Mateo loves the school, all the teachers. Ms Amy and Ms Erin always work with me if I need anything. Respond quickly to my messages, inform me about everything. And Mateo had a period when he was really difficult but nobody made me feel any type of way. We all solved it as a team . I would recommend this school to anyone

  • Horrible place , please don't take your children here ! Extremely unprofessional, believe your children when they tell you that the staff are mean and treating them poorly , the staff tends to intimidate the children and the owner and the owners mother have a very poor persona and has disgusting behavior towards children & parents! and is very much in the wrong profession! They do not care about these babies at all they only care about getting paid . Can't go up to them with questions or concerns because they feel attacked which is so unbelievable , please look else where.

  • I Currently have my 1 year old son enrolled and my 12 year old went there for years. The staff is great and take great care of my son. I feel safe leaving my son there for 8+ hours.

Questions parents ask about LEARN AND GROW EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER

Is LEARN AND GROW EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER a licensed child care provider in Pennsylvania?

Yes. LEARN AND GROW EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER holds Pennsylvania certificate 102265492-0001, listed as "SANCTIONED" by the Office of Child Development and Early Learning in Lackawanna County. The current certificate runs to August 13, 2026. Confirm current standing at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch before enrolling.

What is LEARN AND GROW EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER's Keystone STARS rating?

Pennsylvania publishes no Keystone STARS tier for LEARN AND GROW EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER. Keystone STARS is voluntary, so a provider with no tier has not taken part rather than been judged. Licensing and STARS are separate: a provider without a tier is still certified and still inspected.

Does Pennsylvania record a negative sanction against LEARN AND GROW EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER?

The state's provider dataset records a negative sanction against LEARN AND GROW EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER. That flag is all Pennsylvania publishes in this dataset: it does not say what the sanction was, when it happened, or how serious it was, and a sanction can range from a paperwork lapse to a serious finding. Look the provider up at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch and read the licensing record before drawing a conclusion from this line.

Does this page show inspection results for LEARN AND GROW EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER?

No. Pennsylvania completes at least one unannounced inspection a year at every licensed provider, and publishes the results through the provider search at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch. Those results are not included here, and there is no open dataset of them, so nothing on this page reflects LEARN AND GROW EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER's inspection history either way. Look the provider up there and read the licensing inspection record.
