  • Our daughter absolutely loves it here and we have had no issues as parents. The updates and photos each day are fantastic.

  • Beware of Ms. Tish (Tanisha)! A few days ago, while I was quickly dropping my daughter off at school, Ms. Tish stopped my little girl and me that she couldn’t go to the preschool today. Knowing that I pay the school fees and that this Director works at a preschool, I must say she is far from welcoming and friendly; she is cold in every situation. She told me and my daughter wouldn't be going to daycare. How can a director behave like that with a little girl in preschool? My daughter absolutely loves going to school. Every time I pick her up, she’s brimming with joy and expresses her immense enjoyment of her time there. I want to express my deepest gratitude to Ms. Sheila for her unwavering dedication and exceptional care for the children in her class. Thanks to her, my daughter feels safe and content, and I am truly grateful for her efforts. Lastly thank you to the lady in the front desk Ms Sarah for being kind always greeting. In my opinion, everyone I met there was welcoming.

  • I cannot say enough good things about the staff at Little Explorers. They hear and value every question and concern we have. Our children love their teachers and they come home regularly with art and smiles on their faces. If anything ever comes up or we need to reach out, Little Explorers is very attentive and updates us very regularly on our children’s progress. We feel that our family is in very good hands with Little Explorers.

  • My Two children have been going here for three years now. Honestly I'm not sure where to begin. For starters this center is relatively in my opinion centrally located on the south side flats 10 minutes from downtown. So getting there is extremely easy and usually with a good bit of on street parking. My kids since the first day I have trusted them with the staff have loved it here everyday. My second born is a pandemic baby and was not fond of going to anyone or meeting anyone and that's changed dramatically although she sometimes like to put on a show due to her understanding of how attentive the staff can be(they are around her little fingers lol) one teacher in particular my children have bonded with is Ms Sheila. I cannot brag about this woman enough. She will do anything and everything for your child not to say the others will not because they will I've seen it, however Ms Sheila and im not sure how just has this way with the children that most do not in general. Again I cannot brag enough about this woman and her efforts nor the efforts of the staff including Ms Melissa & every single last one of the staff from the baby room to the toddlers to the after school programs are invested in doing all they can for your child while they are in their care. Ms Sheila deserves the absolute BIGGEST of raises(I'm sure the entire staff does but I have to brag on Ms Sheila one last time!) You can one thousand percent trust this staff and center with your young. Thank you everyone!

  • Cudo's to Melissa and her team at the Southside Center. We've been there since they have opened and the experience is great. They are continuing to grow in a positive direction with fun activities and educational programs. I have seen great changes in our child's attitude and behavior she even looks forward to going to what she calls school. The teachers are kind, supportive and friendly. Ms. Shelia, love's what she does and it shows we are very happy with this program and highly recommend it. You and your family will not be disappointed. Keep up the great work 👍

Yes. LITTLE EXPLORERS LEARNING ACADEMY holds Pennsylvania certificate 104101935-0001, listed as "LICENSED" by the Office of Child Development and Early Learning in Allegheny County. The current certificate runs to July 25, 2026. Confirm current standing at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch before enrolling.

What is LITTLE EXPLORERS LEARNING ACADEMY's Keystone STARS rating?

Pennsylvania rates LITTLE EXPLORERS LEARNING ACADEMY STAR 4, on a scale of one to four where four is highest. That tier took effect on March 10, 2026. Keystone STARS measures programme standards such as staff qualifications and learning environment, not inspection outcomes.

Does Pennsylvania record a negative sanction against LITTLE EXPLORERS LEARNING ACADEMY?

No. The state's provider dataset records no negative sanction against LITTLE EXPLORERS LEARNING ACADEMY at the time the record was published. That is a single field in a snapshot, not a full compliance history, and it is not the same as a clean inspection record. The licensing inspection detail is at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch.

Does LITTLE EXPLORERS LEARNING ACADEMY accept child care subsidy?

Yes. LITTLE EXPLORERS LEARNING ACADEMY holds a subsidy agreement with the state. The agreement covers these age groups: Infant and toddler, Preschool, School-age. An agreement means the provider can bill the subsidy programme, not that a funded place is free today. Eligibility is decided by your Early Learning Resource Center, Early Learning Resource Center for Region 5.

Does this page show inspection results for LITTLE EXPLORERS LEARNING ACADEMY?

No. Pennsylvania completes at least one unannounced inspection a year at every licensed provider, and publishes the results through the provider search at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch. Those results are not included here, and there is no open dataset of them, so nothing on this page reflects LITTLE EXPLORERS LEARNING ACADEMY's inspection history either way. Look the provider up there and read the licensing inspection record.
