  • Our child attends MLA and we adore the experiences that she is having here! She came from a smaller preschool and was welcomed with open arms. Our child’s teachers have been incredibly accommodating, supportive, and are a pivotal part of our child’s learning experience. Our daughter is in the preK program and as an educator myself, I feel as though she is being prepared academically and socially in ways that are aligned with current PA standards (if not more!). MLA is located at the Summit Church, which is in walking distance to the Mt. Airy village and nearby elementary school. The outdoor space at MLA is also beautiful (full playground and open grass area!). The director, Mrs. Kia, has also always been attentive and responsive to our thoughts and needs over the years. We truly cannot recommend Mary’s Learning Academy enough! It can be so nerve-wracking to send your child to any school or center and MLA has made us feel so at ease ❤️.

  • We are absolutely thrilled with Mary's Learning Academy! My daughter is 3 years old and is in their pre-k program. We recently moved to the neighborhood and I was worried about her transition to a new school, and the teachers and administrators at Mary's Learning Academy made the transition seamless (and fun). The teachers are caring, cover all the pre-k subjects to get my daughter ready for kindergarten, they get lots of play time and even have outdoor play space (with swings, slide, grass, the works!). The location can't be beat. They're at Summit about a block from Weaver's Way and High Point Cafe, and a 3-min walk from CW Henry (which makes drop offs/picks ups for my elementary school son a breeze). Cannot recommend Mary's Learning Academy enough - we love it!

  • Mary's is this best in the business. The Director hires only the absolute best staff, and the place is so clean and well run. The teachers not only treat your child like family, but the kids come home learning something new everyday. The communication cannot be beat. You will see photos of your kids that you will want to frame on the Brightwheel app they use. I always knew my kid was in the best possible care when at Mary's. Truly, one of the best decisions our family ever made was to send our kid there. <3

  • It’s a nice place and I loved the atmosphere at this place for my two year old, however, the director and some of the staff are really hard to work with. My 2 year old was only here for three weeks. The director called me numerous of times to tell me my son been hitting on everyone there. I called his pediatrician to get some tips since I’m a new mom. His doctor said it’s normal for a child to behave that way in a new environment and that they should know how to handle that as a daycare. Instead, the director emailed me on a Friday night saying she will contact me regarding his enrollment there. She pretty much wanted to kick him out and said he couldn’t come back for that behavior. She’s has a naggy attitude and walks around like this the best place in the world. She even got a little attitude with my mom. When I went to pick up his belongings, the staff got really quiet when I walked in and I hear whispering. I’m glad he doesn’t have to be around people like that anymore.

  • This is an excellent school to send your children! They have many daily activities and trips for the children, and you can tell the children love the school through the love they each show for their teachers! They use BrightWheel, which is an awesome app where they send pictures and videos throughout the day and keep parents updated and informed. They also just recently expanded. I highly recommend sending your children here!

Is MARYS LEARNING ACADEMY a licensed child care provider in Pennsylvania?

Yes. MARYS LEARNING ACADEMY holds Pennsylvania certificate 102988790-0003, listed as "LICENSED" by the Office of Child Development and Early Learning in Philadelphia County. The current certificate runs to March 30, 2027. Confirm current standing at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch before enrolling.

What is MARYS LEARNING ACADEMY's Keystone STARS rating?

Pennsylvania rates MARYS LEARNING ACADEMY STAR 2, on a scale of one to four where four is highest. That tier took effect on June 28, 2026. Keystone STARS measures programme standards such as staff qualifications and learning environment, not inspection outcomes.

Does Pennsylvania record a negative sanction against MARYS LEARNING ACADEMY?

No. The state's provider dataset records no negative sanction against MARYS LEARNING ACADEMY at the time the record was published. That is a single field in a snapshot, not a full compliance history, and it is not the same as a clean inspection record. The licensing inspection detail is at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch.

Does MARYS LEARNING ACADEMY accept child care subsidy?

Yes. MARYS LEARNING ACADEMY holds a subsidy agreement with the state. The agreement covers these age groups: Infant and toddler, Preschool. An agreement means the provider can bill the subsidy programme, not that a funded place is free today. Eligibility is decided by your Early Learning Resource Center, Early Learning Resource Center for Region 18.

Does this page show inspection results for MARYS LEARNING ACADEMY?

No. Pennsylvania completes at least one unannounced inspection a year at every licensed provider, and publishes the results through the provider search at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch. Those results are not included here, and there is no open dataset of them, so nothing on this page reflects MARYS LEARNING ACADEMY's inspection history either way. Look the provider up there and read the licensing inspection record.
