Mary MyersApr 14, 2026It is a nice location and the staff is very friendly I am simply making this review to shed some light on a policy that could use a little change in my opinion. I was told recently my disabled 5 years daughter who is in a wheelchair was not allowed in the circuit room even though we have been going 3 months multiple times a week. It's 8 years old and up to use the equipment but she is not using the equipment she is in her wheelchair the entire time and there are not many places to workout as a family. The staff was very polite and let me know it's the policy and the only areas she can be are the gymnasium, the pool and the common area.
Gerald Walters (FirePatriot)Aug 14, 2025Enjoy our time, in the last three months, with the Circuit room for family time workouts and aquatic therapy exercises for our disabled family member. Other staff we have spoken to were very helpful and kind. Very well kept up facility. HOWEVER- Alison, the head personel at Mon Valley, sadly, the ADA compliance to make adjustments to your policies for exemptions, is severely lacking, to younger families, or, anyone have intellectual and medically fragile disabilities. Shows that the rural area and rest of the world still has a lot of growing up to do. We will be seeking other YMCA locations to, hopefully, continue on track with our family oriented Special Olympic goals.
