  • We love this place. My kids look forward to going every day, to the point that my toddler pouts on the weekend because he won't get to see his teachers! They've been incredibly reliable even through the pandemic, and my oldest was well prepared for kindergarten. Pricing gets higher every year but that's true in pretty much every sector, still cheaper than many of the centers in the Harrisburg area. The center is at a church but it's not strictly church-based curriculum - for the most part it's standard daycare/pre-k stuff. Occasionally there'll be a bible story and I think they say grace at lunch.

  • this center decided that making a 5 year old nap in a cold room without a blanket or pillow, or an adult to respond to him was a fair consequence for telling a lie..(telling lies developmentally appropriate action for a 5yo) and this center stands by their decision! this is no better than neglecf!

  • Teachers giving inappropriate consequences. Took pillow and blanket away from child for 2 hours in a cold room is abuse

Questions parents ask about NEWPORT LEARNING CENTER

Is NEWPORT LEARNING CENTER a licensed child care provider in Pennsylvania?

Yes. NEWPORT LEARNING CENTER holds Pennsylvania certificate 102689772-0001, listed as "LICENSED" by the Office of Child Development and Early Learning in Perry County. The current certificate runs to May 14, 2027. Confirm current standing at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch before enrolling.

What is NEWPORT LEARNING CENTER's Keystone STARS rating?

Pennsylvania rates NEWPORT LEARNING CENTER STAR 4, on a scale of one to four where four is highest. That tier took effect on November 2, 2025. Keystone STARS measures programme standards such as staff qualifications and learning environment, not inspection outcomes.

Does Pennsylvania record a negative sanction against NEWPORT LEARNING CENTER?

No. The state's provider dataset records no negative sanction against NEWPORT LEARNING CENTER at the time the record was published. That is a single field in a snapshot, not a full compliance history, and it is not the same as a clean inspection record. The licensing inspection detail is at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch.

Does NEWPORT LEARNING CENTER accept child care subsidy?

Yes. NEWPORT LEARNING CENTER holds a subsidy agreement with the state. The agreement covers these age groups: Infant and toddler, Preschool, School-age. An agreement means the provider can bill the subsidy programme, not that a funded place is free today. Eligibility is decided by your Early Learning Resource Center, Early Learning Resource Center for Region 9.

Does this page show inspection results for NEWPORT LEARNING CENTER?

No. Pennsylvania completes at least one unannounced inspection a year at every licensed provider, and publishes the results through the provider search at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch. Those results are not included here, and there is no open dataset of them, so nothing on this page reflects NEWPORT LEARNING CENTER's inspection history either way. Look the provider up there and read the licensing inspection record.
