My neighbors who have gotten a spot love PIC, but getting a spot is like winning a golden ticket. I can't comment on the care, which seems awesome, only the experience getting a spot. It’s not a waitlist, rather a “waitpool”, and we’ve been in it for 30 months already, since Jan 2024. It looks like it’ll be another year since they just sent out the email that their classes have been filled, so we are crossing our fingers that next year — after 42 months in the waitpool — they’ll find a spot for our son! Some advise that you should just continue calling or do multiple tours, but the enrollment coordinator has assured me that there are just far to many applicants than there are spots. Still, it's a bit disheartening when some neighbors get in after 2 months and others wait years and until they have multiple kids on the waitlist.
Allison SegerJul 11, 2025This daycare pick and choose who they want to hire! They talk about each other! They don’t care about your children! Jessica the assistant director is fake professional! I would never recommend anyone to bring their children there. My niece goes to this daycare and when I mean she looks for 1 teacher and 1 teacher only and we just heard she got fired! Absolutely not!
Shamece GloverJul 11, 2025We love PIC! The program is excellent - the kids have lots of outdoor time, go for walks in the community, and engage in “units of study” We loved the infant room with my oldest and now we are lucky enough to have our youngest with the same teachers and we couldn’t be happier. We know she is loved and safe. It makes the transition so much easier to know that she is cared for all day. I wouldn’t want to send my kids anywhere else.
Jessica HuckinOct 11, 2023This is a review about the PIC's communication and engagement with potential parents. My wife and I have been on the waiting list some several months before we even had our child. The idea of calling in every month to 'resecure' our spot is silly, but we obliged since they have the upper hand when demand is so high. Fast forward to last month, when we get an email saying a spot has opened up. We are delighted and excited, but had no opportunity to visit the center physically (we did an online "tour", but that was no tour, just a very basic information session given COVID rukes). We requested to see the facility and would happily signup. A few strange and rude emails later...we had no real choice but to just say no thank you to what feels like an elitist center.
Sudev ShethApr 13, 2023My granddaughter goes here what a positive difference this school has made in her life.
Joshua MonroeSep 21, 2022PIC is first class early education program in the University City section of West Philadelphia. They have a outstanding group of ECE teachers that guide children as they develop the skills need to be successful on their journey to adulthood. PIC is a great place for a child to start that journey.

Questions parents ask about PARENT-INFANT CENTER
Is PARENT-INFANT CENTER a licensed child care provider in Pennsylvania?
- Yes. PARENT-INFANT CENTER holds Pennsylvania certificate 100127915-0001, listed as "LICENSED" by the Office of Child Development and Early Learning in Philadelphia County. The current certificate runs to March 9, 2027. Confirm current standing at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch before enrolling.
What is PARENT-INFANT CENTER's Keystone STARS rating?
- Pennsylvania rates PARENT-INFANT CENTER STAR 4 - ACC, on a scale of one to four where four is highest. That tier took effect on November 4, 2025. Keystone STARS measures programme standards such as staff qualifications and learning environment, not inspection outcomes.
Does Pennsylvania record a negative sanction against PARENT-INFANT CENTER?
- No. The state's provider dataset records no negative sanction against PARENT-INFANT CENTER at the time the record was published. That is a single field in a snapshot, not a full compliance history, and it is not the same as a clean inspection record. The licensing inspection detail is at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch.
Does PARENT-INFANT CENTER accept child care subsidy?
- Yes. PARENT-INFANT CENTER holds a subsidy agreement with the state. The agreement covers these age groups: Infant and toddler, Preschool, School-age. An agreement means the provider can bill the subsidy programme, not that a funded place is free today. Eligibility is decided by your Early Learning Resource Center, Early Learning Resource Center for Region 18.
Does this page show inspection results for PARENT-INFANT CENTER?
- No. Pennsylvania completes at least one unannounced inspection a year at every licensed provider, and publishes the results through the provider search at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch. Those results are not included here, and there is no open dataset of them, so nothing on this page reflects PARENT-INFANT CENTER's inspection history either way. Look the provider up there and read the licensing inspection record.
