New in the area and signed up my daughters for swimming classes . Nice place with courteous staffs and pretty big pool, life guards on deck and teachers are great .plenty of parking front and back.
Kriss P.Jun 30, 2026I appreciate everyone at Stroudsburg YMCA. Staff is always welcoming and very helpful and professional. Very understanding and supportive financially with families that need the extra assistance.
GEM.AM.I.Jun 26, 2026So thankful to have got with Shawn on the phone who was so patient and enthusiastic while i inquired all the programs available for me and my family. But then ended up meeting him in person too when coming to sign up and view the facility, where he once again was so helpful and welcoming! Thank you Shawn for all you time and I love that you seem to really enjoy what you do. Looking forward to this membership and all the programs being offered.
Heidi Maturana Benites with Weichert AcclaimOct 21, 2025I have active and fit through my job and it says they are a part of program, I was excited to start working out there however I got a call they don’t take active and fit. I called active and fit who informed me they called the gym and said yes they do. Then the gym called me multiple times nasty saying they don’t take it and being mean. It stinks when u want to join and now because of that you can’t. Maybe they just don’t want another mom and kids there too much for them to handle. Upset with there attitude towards me): I sent them my work portal and said why do they show up if they don’t accept it cause it’s false advertising and she told me to call. I already did. They said they do
Elizabeth DepalmaOct 17, 2025It’s not about how you start, it’s about how you finish. From what started to be an unpleasant experience, has turned out to be a place I not only look forward to, but is a part of my everyday routine. Keep in mind, I am bias, I only utilize the fitness center. Don’t let the aesthetic fool you, not only is the place in the process (soon) of renovating, but the staff and community make the entire center a welcoming, interactive and caring place of leisure, opportunity and so much more. Countless programs make it impossible to NOT find something to get involved in: Swimming, weight training, basketball, badminton, cardio machines, youth activities, child care and SO much more. This review is authentic, for I have spent my time coming back here before writing this, it’s hard to find a place that is not only welcoming, but has the persistence to make you feel a part of their community. Thank you to all the staff @ Pocono Family YMCA Until next time.
Waldo “Games” RodriguezApr 18, 2025Amazing staff, price is amazing, 70$ for 4 people every month, seems like much but if you do the math it’s 2$ for use of everything for every day. Tell me a place that does that?! Lifeguard at the pool, nice basketball area and its local.

Questions parents ask about POCONO FAMILY YMCA
Is POCONO FAMILY YMCA a licensed child care provider in Pennsylvania?
- Yes. POCONO FAMILY YMCA holds Pennsylvania certificate 100137653-0001, listed as "LICENSED" by the Office of Child Development and Early Learning in Monroe County. The current certificate runs to October 22, 2026. Confirm current standing at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch before enrolling.
What is POCONO FAMILY YMCA's Keystone STARS rating?
- Pennsylvania rates POCONO FAMILY YMCA STAR 3, on a scale of one to four where four is highest. That tier took effect on February 4, 2026. Keystone STARS measures programme standards such as staff qualifications and learning environment, not inspection outcomes.
Does Pennsylvania record a negative sanction against POCONO FAMILY YMCA?
- No. The state's provider dataset records no negative sanction against POCONO FAMILY YMCA at the time the record was published. That is a single field in a snapshot, not a full compliance history, and it is not the same as a clean inspection record. The licensing inspection detail is at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch.
Does POCONO FAMILY YMCA accept child care subsidy?
- Yes. POCONO FAMILY YMCA holds a subsidy agreement with the state. The agreement covers these age groups: Infant and toddler, Preschool. An agreement means the provider can bill the subsidy programme, not that a funded place is free today. Eligibility is decided by your Early Learning Resource Center, Early Learning Resource Center for Region 12.
Does this page show inspection results for POCONO FAMILY YMCA?
- No. Pennsylvania completes at least one unannounced inspection a year at every licensed provider, and publishes the results through the provider search at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch. Those results are not included here, and there is no open dataset of them, so nothing on this page reflects POCONO FAMILY YMCA's inspection history either way. Look the provider up there and read the licensing inspection record.
