Before paying the $150 dollar waitlist fee, realize it is almost $2500 dollars a month for care! For that much my child better come out bilingual, and playing violin... something more than a basic, nice daycare. The cost is $700 dollars more than other high quality accredited daycares in the area.
H VJun 30, 2026This place is very overcrowded, especially the pre-k room. The 4-5 yr old room is crowded too, but not as crowded as the pre-k room. The pre-k room was stuffy, hot and had no air flow. The children were not being taught anything. They were just playing and the teachers were just sitting and watching. The infant room was chaotic, messy, and every child was crying or fussing. The place could use a deep cleaning. Notably, the children’s bathroom was gross. This place is very overpriced, $2000 plus a month for care. And there is a non-refundable $150 registration fee, meaning you have to pay it to get in or be put on the waitlist if spots are not available (spots are definitely not available, again, this place is beyond capacity). I would not recommend enrolling your children here. I gave it two stars because at least the manager (Mia) was nice and informative.
ChristinaSApr 8, 2026We were at Small Wonders for 3 years until we had to move and we LOVED our time there. I was a new mom at the start and they embraced our whole family and made it feel like another home for our children. All the staff were supportive, welcoming, and thoughtful of my 2 sons as individuals and made them smile always. We miss it a lot. I highly recommend joining the Small Wonders Family!
Lily MauronerJul 8, 2024My daughter had an amazing education experience in this daycare center. The teachers and curriculum are professional.

- Pennsylvania rates SMALL WONDERS AT THE UPMC STAR 4, on a scale of one to four where four is highest. That tier took effect on November 27, 2025. Keystone STARS measures programme standards such as staff qualifications and learning environment, not inspection outcomes.
Does Pennsylvania record a negative sanction against SMALL WONDERS AT THE UPMC?
- No. The state's provider dataset records no negative sanction against SMALL WONDERS AT THE UPMC at the time the record was published. Does SMALL WONDERS AT THE UPMC accept child care subsidy?
- Yes. SMALL WONDERS AT THE UPMC holds a subsidy agreement with the state. The agreement covers these age groups: Infant and toddler, Preschool. An agreement means the provider can bill the subsidy programme, not that a funded place is free today. Eligibility is decided by your Early Learning Resource Center, Early Learning Resource Center for Region 5.
Does this page show inspection results for SMALL WONDERS AT THE UPMC?
- No. Pennsylvania completes at least one unannounced inspection a year at every licensed provider, and publishes the results through the provider search at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch. Those results are not included here, and there is no open dataset of them, so nothing on this page reflects SMALL WONDERS AT THE UPMC's inspection history either way. Look the provider up there and read the licensing inspection record.
