  • My little cousin went here and they were absolutely amazing with his special needs. The staff is wonderful.

  • I would look elsewhere. My son attended this daycare for 1 year when he turned 2 and in the beginning things were ok. The administrators were nice but the place could use a good cleaning as my son would come home with a dingy smell and always had a cough or cold. I planned to just deal with it until a spot on the waiting list for another school opened up, but he was transferred to another teachers room who didn’t seem to like my child at all and I believe he felt it. I would get calls every week about his behavior (which seemed to be provoked) and my son also came home with bruises from other kids. I requested a conference with his teacher who was very defensive and nasty and, she even tried to insinuate my child may be autistic and suggested that I get him evaluated by a behavior specialist. I ended up hiring an independent psychiatrist who specializes in Autistic patients to evaluate him in the classroom and she didn’t see anything that would indicate him being autistic and mentioned to me that the teacher even suggested it to her. The psychiatrist recommendation was to remove him from that environment . I ended up pulling my son out of the school and kept him home the entire summer because it wasn’t worth all of the stress I believe they put him and myself through. When my son started his new school, I instantly saw a change for the better and he has been there for almost two years with minimal to no complaints. Lastly, the teaching staff could also benefit from some form of sensitivity and DEI training as I felt that children of color weren’t treated the same as other kids and I’ve overheard the same feelings from other parents and even staff who left.

  • Since my child has been going to this school in the last six months or so.. He has changed for the better.. He is smarter ,more outgoing , and just a happier person to be around. The teachers are incredible, my son literally can't wait to go back to school the next day because of the teachers. It is the best thing I've ever done to send my child to school when and where I did.. I'm not very good with words but I'm very grateful to all of the Sonrise staff.. Thank you, Melissa Simons.

Questions parents ask about SONRISE CHRISTIAN DAY SCHOOL

Is SONRISE CHRISTIAN DAY SCHOOL a licensed child care provider in Pennsylvania?

Yes. SONRISE CHRISTIAN DAY SCHOOL holds Pennsylvania certificate 100298387-0001, listed as "LICENSED" by the Office of Child Development and Early Learning in Delaware County. The current certificate runs to July 30, 2026. Confirm current standing at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch before enrolling.

What is SONRISE CHRISTIAN DAY SCHOOL's Keystone STARS rating?

Pennsylvania rates SONRISE CHRISTIAN DAY SCHOOL STAR 3, on a scale of one to four where four is highest. That tier took effect on April 14, 2026. Keystone STARS measures programme standards such as staff qualifications and learning environment, not inspection outcomes.

Does Pennsylvania record a negative sanction against SONRISE CHRISTIAN DAY SCHOOL?

No. The state's provider dataset records no negative sanction against SONRISE CHRISTIAN DAY SCHOOL at the time the record was published. That is a single field in a snapshot, not a full compliance history, and it is not the same as a clean inspection record. The licensing inspection detail is at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch.

Does SONRISE CHRISTIAN DAY SCHOOL accept child care subsidy?

Yes. SONRISE CHRISTIAN DAY SCHOOL holds a subsidy agreement with the state. The agreement covers these age groups: Infant and toddler, Preschool, School-age. An agreement means the provider can bill the subsidy programme, not that a funded place is free today. Eligibility is decided by your Early Learning Resource Center, Early Learning Resource Center for Region 15.

Does this page show inspection results for SONRISE CHRISTIAN DAY SCHOOL?

No. Pennsylvania completes at least one unannounced inspection a year at every licensed provider, and publishes the results through the provider search at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch. Those results are not included here, and there is no open dataset of them, so nothing on this page reflects SONRISE CHRISTIAN DAY SCHOOL's inspection history either way. Look the provider up there and read the licensing inspection record.
