I am writing to share some feedback regarding my experience at the gym today. I arrived at approximately 1:45 PM, but less than ten minutes later, the staff asked all members to leave, & kicked us out the facility three hours early. While I understand that unexpected schedule changes can occur there were many members actively using the gym, and others were being turned away at the door. I spoke with the front desk staff to mention that early closures should be updated on your website so members can check before traveling to the facility. I truly appreciate this gym really it is always clean and offer a wonderful healthy environment for children, young adults, and adults in our community. Because it plays such a positive role it is disappointing when members are unable to use the facility during its posted operating hours. I hope you will consider updating the website or sending notifications in the future when hours change thank you.
Ty PJul 26, 2026Front desk was as helpful as possible. My First time attempting to register for summer camp and using assistance aid funding. Front desk said I was able to use aid funding. Office said I could not. Front desk said other parents use aid funding. The same program I am currently in at that. I think the office lady name was Stephanie. Not sure if I’m wrong with info or she was. But my daughter is now registered for camp at another YMCA. Regardless to say wasn’t happy with the not so clear information.
Akua PerkinsJul 15, 2026I had three kids in the summer camp program. Had to pull them after two weeks. My kids would come home crying from counselors yelling at them. My younger daughter would just be sat in front of a tablet each morning with the whole class... I highly don’t recommend sending your kids here.
Alexander FranceschiniJul 7, 2026Great facility with tons of great courts, pool, indoor track and gym, but the staff is incredibly unfriendly and unhelpful. I don't know if the management changed recently but it is not an enjoyable experience.
David SchlechtMay 23, 2026The facility is clean and well-maintained, and there’s a solid variety of equipment for all fitness levels, whether you’re into cardio, strength training, or group classes. I also appreciate the range of programs they offer, from fitness classes to youth and family activities, which makes it a great place for everyone—not just individuals.
David GriffinApr 4, 2026I really like this gym - I would say the cons are as follows: the free weights (outside of the yard) need to be expanded to include a few more varieties like 7.5 + 12 lbs dumbbells some equipment could be added to enhance experience (standing calf raise for example) the bathrooms/showers are very dingy - I wish these facilities were a little nicer given the price I wish they could get rid of the ticket booths near parking to widen up the lanes for traffic pros though: has everything you could want or dream of in terms of courts/track/pool/sauna/cold plunge etc. ton of squat racks & bench press setups in the yard so never a problem getting one. The yard also has a great free weights selection if you can’t find what you are looking for inside. ample parking! I typically thing everything seems very clean despite being moderately outdated in some aspects, cleanliness does not seem to be an issue.

Questions parents ask about SPRINGFIELD YMCA
Is SPRINGFIELD YMCA a licensed child care provider in Pennsylvania?
- Yes. SPRINGFIELD YMCA holds Pennsylvania certificate 100358716-0014, listed as "LICENSED" by the Office of Child Development and Early Learning in Delaware County. The current certificate runs to January 12, 2027. Confirm current standing at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch before enrolling.
What is SPRINGFIELD YMCA's Keystone STARS rating?
- Pennsylvania rates SPRINGFIELD YMCA STAR 1, on a scale of one to four where four is highest. That tier took effect on January 22, 2021. Keystone STARS measures programme standards such as staff qualifications and learning environment, not inspection outcomes.
Does Pennsylvania record a negative sanction against SPRINGFIELD YMCA?
- No. The state's provider dataset records no negative sanction against SPRINGFIELD YMCA at the time the record was published. That is a single field in a snapshot, not a full compliance history, and it is not the same as a clean inspection record. The licensing inspection detail is at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch.
Does SPRINGFIELD YMCA accept child care subsidy?
- Yes. SPRINGFIELD YMCA holds a subsidy agreement with the state. An agreement means the provider can bill the subsidy programme, not that a funded place is free today. Eligibility is decided by your Early Learning Resource Center, Early Learning Resource Center for Region 15.
Does this page show inspection results for SPRINGFIELD YMCA?
- No. Pennsylvania completes at least one unannounced inspection a year at every licensed provider, and publishes the results through the provider search at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch. Those results are not included here, and there is no open dataset of them, so nothing on this page reflects SPRINGFIELD YMCA's inspection history either way. Look the provider up there and read the licensing inspection record.
